Positive:
The radiologist Dr Harshad Jagtap seems knowledgeable and courteous. He explains the scan very well too. We went to Care imaging clinic as our usual radiologist was out of town on an emergency.
We were so impressed with Dr Jagtap that we were already talking about getting our future USG scans done there.
The NT scan was completed and we got the report on the same day. Everything looked good on the report and we were happy.
Negative:
The next test to be done was double marker test which is done on the basis of NT scan report.
Once blood samples were collected by Apollo clinic for the double marker test, they called us the day after and said there was an anomaly in the NT scan report. The diagnosis said everything was fine but the NT value was 6 mm which is way above normal ranges.
We got worried and called up Care imaging clinic. They refused to speak further on the phone and asked us to visit the clinic again to understand the issue.
The moment we reached, they said there was nothing to worry about and the report was good except that there was a typo error. It should be 0.6 mm instead of 6 mm. They took the erroneous report and gave us a corrected report.
However, no matter how small an error it looks, this was a serious mistake.
I was expecting that they would offer us a re-test free of cost since the mistake was theirs but they kept telling that the scan and report were fine and it was only the typo that needed correction.
We didn’t make any further fuss about it but this mistake could have caused incorrect results in the subsequent tests and affect the pregnancy adversely. Thanks to the alertness of the pathologist at Apollo clinic we were guided in the right direction.
I don’t know whether it was Dr Jagtap himself or someone else who typed and printed the erroneous report, because it was done behind closed doors.
I have photographs of both reports - the erroneous one as well as the corrected one.
While I’m going to spend my money again in getting the NT scan done by our usual radiologist, I sincerely hope such mistakes are not made again at Dr Harshad Jagtap’s Care imaging clinic.
