★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located centrally they are the largest library in Chandigarh. Got a vast collection of fiction and non fiction in both hindi and english. Inexpensive membership

We came at 1.30 they said to wait as 1-2 is lunch time then finally when we went to office they return us saying only aadhar is accepted we were carrying Pan and voter id
When after 10 minutes we went there with aadhar they were having lunch
No respect for others time
This is how govt employees behave

Library is always crowded. Try to reach before 9 am to get seat of your choice.
The reading room has no seat hogging policy so it is rare to reacquire a seat once you have left the place.
The seats and table are in good condition with a few cubilcles for more privacy.
Has lush gardens outside with seating.
Timings are 8 to 8 on all days except gazetted holidays.
Staff is very cooperative.
ACs are not very effective though

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Information about Central State Library ,Chandigarh:-Library is not responsible for personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged in library premises. Moving Library furniture from where it is placed and reservation of seats are not allowed. Sitting on the floor, lying down or placing feet on the furniture is not allowed.
Membership about:-
Residents of Chandigarh city, Mohali city and Panchkula city can become members of this Library.
The Security amount is Rs. 500/- for all .Identity cards accepted for membership- Adhaar/Voter/Driving licence/Passport and 2Photographs, 1Photograph through E-mail.Security is refunded once you cease to be member of this Library.
Members are responsible for the safe custody of their membership cards. The duplicate card will be issued on payment of Re. 50/-. Members will be held responsible for any loss that the library may have to undergo due to the misuse of their lost cards.The card of a reader will be valid for twelve months and can be renewed by filling up a renewal slip.

2. Books on loan can be recalled and the loan terminated at any time by order of the Librarian.
3. Home delivery services for senior citizen, temporary disable and permanently disable people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ T S Central State Library is a place where you need to be the member of first and then you can issue books for a minimum of 14 days and I also joined as I have a reading habit and you will find every type of book to choose from your interest and improve your knowledge. Membership fees is one time fees and it was 526 rupee for me in 2021. I recommend to be the member of this library who have the habit of reading books. Children library is on the ground floor and for adults library is on the 1st floor and the next floor offers a section for you to reading place. There is entrance for wheelchair bound people also.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place for study but library staff are very irresponsible and they are work only sit on their chair even they give order to students to move different section for solving their problems. Else they are know very well students have no enough time to do all those works and all are work like best employee of government...showing showoff.
