★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good for tourists. If you are visiting Mandar, you should definitely plan for Chandan Dam too.
Please don't plan in the evening or night, as it is a remote area and surrounded by the forest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Approx Two hour journey from Bhagalpur district. This place is blessed with natural beauty, worth every penny to reach here. However there are no such facilities for tourist.... No assistance except one HOME GUARD. one need to go nearby market (situated near to Navoday school) for small things like a cup of tea. Bihar tourism need to focus on this area. This place can attract a lot of tourist if camping and boat ride facilities provided.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really, "Chandan Dam" has all the natural qualities that a dam should have. Actually, this is the 3rd time, when i went there with my family. 21 years ago, when i had gone there for the first time, i saw that there were neither a park available nor a general shop. But, now it's quite improved. Now, we can find here some small shops, two parks without any cost and a good space for parking too. On one hand, we can say that the very dam has all the features like natural beauty, some artificial structures and so on. But, on the other hand, the dam has some demerits too. The security of dam and number of staff members should be improved. There should be a proper parking area made for the commoners. And the very most important thing is that, there is no separate toilets available for ladies and gents. Inspite of all these things, it's our responsibility too that we should maintain the cleanliness of the very place and balance of the nature. So, if the very authority, which maintains the various works of the dam, want and take some essential steps towards the bright future of the dam and the nearby area then there will be great opportunities for the commoners, who are directly or indirectly related to the dam.
