★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chaumachi Khan’s Tomb/Makbara is the best example of how public property is being encroached in Delhi. This historical Tomb is encroached from all the sides. It is being maintained by Delhi Government. One security guard is put on duty, as it seems that he resides in the tomb. Utensils, boxes etc can be seen around inside the tomb. Tomb is located in the interior of Mehrauli which is not easy to reach. Google Maps will take you to the location. Tomb has got historical importance and it is of 16th Century Mughal period. As it seems that it was recently renovated.
There are many such historically important monuments in Mehrauli which needs to be popularise to attract more tourists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chaumachi khan tomb an unidentified nobleman's tomb lies in to the narrow alley's of mehrauli. The tomb lies underground & the staircase is closed which led us to the tomb. The monument is literally sandwiched between a couple of apartments, it is inaccessible & the guard would not let you go inside the tomb. The tomb is now subjected to brutal encroachment.
