Very nice place. Both the temple and palace was very beautiful. There was a lot of parking space.

ChilkiGarh Rajbari is famous for its forested cover area. It is located in a small village of Jhargram District of West Bengal. Raja Dhabaldeb constructed his fort inside the forest by the river 'Dulung' (A thin tributary of Subarnarekha River). It is an ancient palace built in two floors. There was a clock tower at one end of the campus, which seemed to have stopped giving time long back. The whole area bore a touch of eternal stillness.

Located near Jhargram, stands this grand structure from a bygone era. Its outer fields are open to the public. One can go an witness the outside ruins of a once elegant structure. A vast field, a mandir and a great tree is there to greet a visitor. Worth a visit if one is at Jhargram. The drive from Jhargram is brilliant as well. Since there isn't any security, try to visit this place during the day tself

The nearly 450-year-old palace is now in ruins. This palace is a witness of many histories of Bengal. The deity of this dynasty is still worshiped here every day. Some representatives of the dynasty lived in the inner part of the palace. The district administration and the government should build a suitable tourist center around this palace.

A historical palace, however, it looks like a haunted place. Nothing to see as such only the ruins of the palace and the ruins of the temples in the palace area. One can roam around the old palace ruins, if it is during the sunset then a person will have a spooky feeling. Near to the chilkigarh palace is the Kanak Durga Mandir, you have to walk around 500 mts from the car parking to reach the Mandir. The road to mandir is in between the jungle and the experience is very nice. The Dulung river flows near the Durga mandir which is around 100 mts from the mandir.

Though the Palace is in ruins but the ruins itself seem to speak about its glorious past...the closed doors of the temples gives an eerie feel as they seem to hide some dark secrets behind the closed doors..Somehow I liked this place as a whole

The rajbari is around 30-40 minutes drive from Jhargram town., however the road condition is pretty good. You reoss the dulung river on the way. Dueinf Marxh there wasnt much water, but as per the locals during the monsson the roads gets closed due to overflow of river water. I was a bit disappointed to see the Palace itself. There is no system of tickets and as a result there is no maintenance as well. There are multiple temples and buildings inside the campus -most of them in a dilapidated state. Just a portion of the palace is a bit maintained which used for some official purpose by the WB Govt. The rest is in ruins. There is no way to enter the palace(at least we didnt find any, and there was no one around to guide us).It wont take you more than 10-15 minutes to explore the entire campus. It could have been a food tourist spot, but right now its just ruins.

The place does carry a great haritage indeed but there is no one to take care of it. Everything is so torn and dirty, people has drew nasty images and written on the walls. There is also no documented history of the place anywhere in the entire campus.
