This Kanakdurga temple is one of the most spectacular and historical places in Jhargram. It is said that mother Kanakadurga is very awake. This temple is located in the lap of nature. The Dulung River flows not far from the temple. There are parking and bathroom facilities. There is a lot of donkeys in the whole temple premises.

Temple in the midst of nature.. A lively place where you will find cute creatures jumping here and there, by this I meant monkeys.. Attached to this is a beautiful lake where you can capture few of your best shots...

A small temple complex near the river and the really interesting part are the well behaved monkeys. One can also go down to the river from the temple complex.

Great place , some 8 km away from Jhargram town. This temple is located by Dulung river in the middle of deep forest. Many devotees come to pray here. Lots of monkeys can be found.

Its really a thrilling experience to visit the place for me. King Gopinath has built the temple which is estimated to be more then 500 years old. The king dreamt the idol of Goddess Kanak Durga, and he built the temple of the goddess. As the name suggests Kanak, the idol, is completely made of Gold and is 2(two)feet in hight. It is believed that human sacrifice formed a vital ritual during the times of the royal. Until and unless the sacrificial blood reached the Dulung River, the ritual continued.
