★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ancient temple. In good olden days. This area was full of Moduga trees (flame-of-the-forest or bastard teak). That is why this village was called "Modukuru". One merchant from the West, during his business trip, one night, took shelter here. It is said that Veerabhadraswamy, in his dreams, ordered the merchant to build a temple here. Hence, the merchant, removed some Moduga trees here and built-up a temple for Sri Veerabhadraswamy.
Now, the temple became lower than the road and to be reconstructed by lifting to a higher pedestal.
