If you are bringing your friend or relative with you, tell him/her to carry valid id so that he/she can wait with you inside.
Be particular for cover letter, photo and bothside photocopy of passport.
Make sure the type of visa you are applying.
Student visa requires physical fitness certificate (govt. Apprpved).
Rest is luck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nobody will pick up the phone when you call and when you somehow manage to reach their office they are not fully updated and aware of the procedure one needs to undergo according to ones individual requirements, they will apply the same procedure for everyone

Coupan system so has to go early in the morning and wait in line. Waiting period varies one to 2 hrs depending upon rush.
Don't provide any online appointments
Individual applicants are preferred over agents.
All details need to be typed they do not accept hand written forms
Payments can be done only in cash..
Documents required for tourist visa is
Filled application form
Day to day itenarry required
Confirmed hotel address
NOC from employer
Bank statement six months / salary slip
Confirmed return airline tickets
Passport photos

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Professional and experienced staff. Well maintained. Token system is there while filling for visa. Better be there around 8 am if need to make sure of getting token. Nicely managed. Passport collection time is 3 pm to 5 pm. Attaching the pic @9 am in morning. This place is situated underground -2 floor of vfs ..Shivaji stadium metro station. Very near to gurudwara bangla sahib

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I share my experience for the sake those struggling with recent delays in getting Visa through Travel Agents:
Due to some reason, they are accepting very limited applications from each Agent per day. On the other hand, if we appear directly for our own application, it is relatively much easier and faster. Just take note of the following points which are valid at the time of this post, but may keep changing:
- reach the center by 8 and Que up if you wish to finish off submission early.
- Express Visa Application is not accepted after 11 AM
- For Express Visa, Flight Itinerary & Covering Letter from Employer / Business Firm is a must in addition to Invitation from China
- Bring all required printouts with you. There is no printing facility in the Center. Black & White prints available at OneVasco on the next floor but it opens at 9 only. Colour print is available in the market (exit the building, turn right & walk till you see a Temple on your right, take the next right turn, It opens only after 10 AM, which is too tight if Express submission)
- Laptops, Tablets & Water bottles are not allowed inside. These have to be deposited at Cloak room upstairs (near VFS entrance).
- Collection is after 3 PM even though they will say after 2 PM. For collection also people start Queing up after 2 PM and token is given.
- Payment to be done at the time of Collection.
Generally the staff are professional and well behaved.
The shops in this building are so expensive, charging 50 Rs. For a small bottle of water.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Phones aren’t answered properly here unless you call 7-10 times but the visa process is so easy and smooth! I was done in less than 10 mins with the whole thing. It’s easier to do it yourself than to go through an agent. The staff are pleasant too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff cooperations is much appreciated. Easy process and they give priority for self/ individual applicants. Your work completes less than half hour.
You get photocopy facility at nominal price. If there is any mistake in the form you can also fill the printed forms available.
If you need to print from the internet right outside application centre you can find it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As far as visa application processes go, this was one of the smoother ones. Long wait at the center, but the application itself was processed in 2-3 working days.
Make sure that you have all the necessary supporting documents, in the correct format (there's a guide on a red board at the center).
Staff is friendly and helpful: kudos to them, as I'm sure they deal with many terrible folks everyday.
For visa fees, note that in addition to the base fee, there is a service charge levied by the center. If you are using an agent, there is an additional charge of ₹2500.
