About Colocal Chocolates ! Khan Market

Our Story

Colocal chocolates is a result of inquisitiveness. One day while exploring Instagram, Sheetal stumbled upon a story of a chocolate maker in Vietnam which showcased cacao getting roasted in a roasting machine. As Nishant was a roaster, she got interested and inquisitive to know about it more. Soon they were in Vietnam to find out more about it and as they say rest is history.
Two years later after endless research and several failed attempts, they were able to make their first chocolate bar and Colocal was born!

I have not going out much but i could not stop myself when I got to know Colocal has opened its second outlet in khan market in Oct 2021. I have been a fan of their Cranberry Coffee Brew and Handmade Pasta collection from my past visits at the dhan mill compound branch and knew what was waiting for me in this new branch. Situated on the first floor, you can't miss the outlet since its signage is the biggest one amidst the other restaurants and bright yellow facade makes you reminiscent of the first outlet. Now these guys are considered to be one of best chocolate artisans in the city with exclusive single origin dark chocolate with - 55%, 66%, 72% and 85% cacao (non roasted beans) which are sold from the cafe.  And one of the best coffee as well as hot chocolate range to choose from. Moreover, they have an extensive food menu that is quite impressive too. My 2 best eating pals and i had decided to come here empty stomach to explore for supper  and I tell you this was the apt resolution  indeed. We  decided to order the Southwest Chicken Burger, Bean Burger and Mama Rosa pasta at the first go with Cranberry Coffee Brew and Cold Coffee Brew and a 55% hot chocolate. The spaghetti in the mixed sauce stood out completely in this round and the quantity is quite fulfilling as well.  Both the burgers veg and non veg respectively were decent.  Next up was the Porcini Risotto and Shephard's Pie. The Risotto was the prime dish for the day and the trio of Arborio rice, porcini stock and mascarpone cheese was cooked to perfection. While my friends grabbed on the Lamb pie and I finished this Risotto quite on my own! The Pie too was sapid enough. Overall their food menu is outstanding and there are other small bites available  as well in case you are less hungry unlike us. Last but not the least, the  Colocal Hot or Cold "Campfire" chocolate can't be skipped at all. While my pals enjoyed on the hot version I relished on the Cold option which has a finer smokiness to it and is an overall treat to your tastebuds. My mates went for a twice Baked Chocolate cake and Lemon tart for desserts but i was in seventh heaven post having my Cold chocolate and can't wait to revisit just to have it again enjoy its smoky delight. Morever, would love to try the breakfast menu next time.

Located in the middle lane but up a steep staircase, this is not a friendly place for those with reduced mobility. No physical menu's, one is forced to scan the QR code and browse over one's mobile. Service was more than lacking if the restaurant fills up, only two waiters to cater to almost ten tables. My fish & chips was the worst I've ever had anywhere, the photo will show how they took two frozen fish out of the packet, simply microwaved them & added some chips to the side. Tasted soggy & wasn't fried but thawed. The Mutton Lasagna was good but seemed to be prepared too. The lemon tart simply made me gag, it was most god awful thing I've tasted in a long time, think it had gone stale. Looking at my expression the Manager changed it on his own & provided me with a freshly baked chocolate brownie which was palatable. Not going to return here in a hurry & if I do, I'll stick to the coffee only as the food is simply dubious.

After the success of Colocal in Chattarpur, it has opened another outlet in the very posh Khan Market . One can spot it from outside due to its bright yellow colour painted walls . The decor is minimal yet so earthy with green plants and jute lamps and chairs. If you're a chocolate lover you cannot miss visiting Colocal . If you're not ,you're bound to fall in love with chocolate after visiting this place . Apart from the vast food menu they offer, one can pick up chocolates from their dedicated chocolate counter choosing from 55%, 66%,72%and 85% cacao . I visited the place for lunch. We went for the Avocado croissant. The croissant was filled with an avacado smash almost like a guacamole ,cheese and cherry tomatoes. The Veg Tacos is something that I would highly recommend on the menu. Crisp taco shells filled with re- fried kidney beans and topped with sour cream, guacamole and cheese was absolutely delicious. The Gnocchi in Arrabiatta sauce was airy and light and one of the better gnocchi I've had in a while. If you are a Sourdough lover like me , you cannot miss the Sourdough pizzas , they are amazing and so baked to perfection. Not having chocolate here would be a pity . The Double chocolate cake in simple words ,is to die for . It might look like a simple humble cake but the moment you bite into it , that super buttery and chocolatey cake transports you to chocolate heaven. Ended our lunch with a Campfire hot chocolate. Served with a smoke in the glass and marshmallows and the thick hot chocolate is just awesome. Totally recommend this place if you're looking for nice food, ambience and want to experience what chocolate coma is visit Colocal .

Simply Loved the cold coffee with ice cream, mushroom bruschetta, double baked chocolate cake and peri peri chicken wings. All of them were just too good. Skip the Tiramisu though. :)

The cafe is famous for the chocolates they make and the desserts they make from it. They make chocolates in various dark intensities - 60, 70, 80 and 90. They also offer chocolates for tasting, they also have other products like cookies and marshmallows. The desserts they have is out of the world, especially the chocolate pastry is divine and a must must try. You will definitely want to have one every time you visit this place. I also tried their hot chocolate which is also available in different dark intensities. The hot chocolate was really good but one suggestion is definitely start with the lowest dark intensity one. Lovely ambience and great courteous staff.
