It has been informed that Section 142 of the Code on Social Security, 2020, has been brought into force with effect from 03.05.2021 vide gazette notification No.1730(E) dated 30.04.2021. The section 142 of Chapter XIV of the Social Security Code, 2020, states that beneficiary under this Code or rules, regulations or Schemes shall establish his identity through Aadhaar number.
To ensure that the ex-employees who are members of Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) are not adversely affected, it is requested to update Aadhar/KYC on EPFO portal in their UAN immediately.
In this regard, please note that no further Extension has been granted by the EPFO and the due date has already lapsed.
