★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pithapuram is believed to be the birth place of Sri Sripada Srivallabha Swamy, the first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. This place also hosts one of the Shakthi Peetams Shri Puruhuthika Matha.
There is a temple of Lord Shiva with the name of Kukkuteswara Swamy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sri Pada Sri Vallabha is the first incarnation of Sri Dattatreya that happened in 1320 AD at Sri Kshetra Pithapuram. A Temple is located at the place he was reportedly born/ grown up and an Office of Sripada Srivallabha Mahasamsthan, a private trust is located in the complex which is administering the Temple affairs. The Samsthan is providing free accommodation and boarding facilities to the devotees. It accepts donations from devotees against receipts that are exempted from Income tax.
The small temple has the idol of Lord Dattatreya, flanked by Sripada Sri Vallabha and Sri Nrisimha Saraswati and also Sri padukas and Statue of Sripada Sri Vallabha in meditation under Audumbara tree. Daily pujas take place at fixed timings and devotees can perform them on prescribed payment. The temple is closed from 12.30 to 5.00pm.
Devotees has to take slips in advance to have lunch and dinner arranged in a separate big hall.
Opposite to the Temple/ office is Sri Venugopalaswamy temple which is small and beautiful.
SRIPADA VALLABHA ANAGHA DATTA KSHETRA : This being the birth place of Sripada Sri Vallabha, thiis Temple was also constructed in Pithapuram by Sri Ganapathy Satchidananda Swamy. This is also a beautiful temple and the devotees may visit this too as this is not that far.
