★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DDU Shimla is one of the dedicated Covid hospital in HP and medical staffs here are providing an excellent services and saving lives everyday, during once in lifetime Covid second surge in India. Recent, my family members got admitted to this hospital around mid April. I had many apprehensions on level of cares due to first, its being a government hospital and second, due to large surge, considering the hospital situations in rest of the country. However, I am happy to report that doctors, rest of the medical staff, food services and level of cleanness at this hospital is nothing but great. Hats off and heartfelt appreciation to each and every employees of DDU Shimla hospital and keep up the good work!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to this hospital today for my Covid vaccination. It was in the old building, seen in the attached photo. I think the little parking space that there is at the hospital is only for hospital staff, so I would recommend parking one’s car at the multi-level car park near the tourist lift and walking to the hospital; it is just an eight-minute walk.
It is very surprising and disappointing to note that the hospital doesn’t have a website, as far as I am aware, which is ridiculous in today’s age. A well-designed website with all the necessary information which a visitor might seek is much-needed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst hospital. I have been to Gynae OPD with my wife. For most of the time doctors are unavailable. There is no system at all to handle patients. It's humiliating to keep standing in the queue, waiting for doctors to come and check patient.
It's disheartening to see pregnant ladies standing in the queue. What kind of system it is.
Doctor keep roaming from Gyane OPD to OT, but no one to check patients.
I wanted to give 0* for this kind of facility, but there is no such option of a 0.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hospital was proposed by Lord Ripon, former viceroy of India and its construction began in 1882. It was opened at 14 May 1885 by Lord Duffrin. The hospital building was designed by Henry Irvin and it is one of the historical landmarks in Shimla.
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital (DDU) formerly known as Ripon Hospital is a Zonal hospital in Shimla city. It is located in the city center above Old Bus Stand and below Lower Bazaar. Its one entrance is from Ram Bazaar another is from Ganj and downside entrance is near Old Bus Stand.
The new Deen Dayal Hospital Complex got completed on 26 April 2017. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Sh Virbhadra Singh. The new complex is constructed with an outlay of 35 Crores and can accommodate 135 beds. The new seven storied complex has central heating and offers all amenities including chemist shops, parking, blood banks besides MRI, CT Scan facilities etc.
The hospital is named after the renowned Indian politician Deendayal Upadhyaya. Its former name Ripon Hospital was named after Indian Viceroy Lord Ripon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A well known hospital named, Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital is in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh state. All major medical facility are available here. The entire officer and chief doctors as CMO, Sr Medical Officer, Dist. Health Officer, Dist Aids Officer and Leprosy Officer are sitting here for your health response. Facility are good but some of doctors and Junior resident doctor are not behaving properly which is not good sign for doctor's profession.

One of great person by nature and also great by his knowledge.
Doctors should not be great by profession only they should be great by nature also.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hospital is little bit clean but bathroom is very dirty specially the old hospital
Also nurse have no atticates to talk to patients and vistors, very disappointed on the government staff.
Just keep on talking with full non sense and at last said to called security
Very bad behaviour.
I would suggest to go private hospital after showing here in case of emergency, as their treatment is very very poor
I hope in future this becomes better and should not continued, train your staff regarding human resources.
