★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think I am eligible to write a review having done MSc Biotechnology from BSBE, IITB. I happened to be there when the new building had just started and it has been ever growing. The labs have been well planned and well equipped. Lab area to student is ratio good. All the professors are extremely good in their field. I had a valuable experience as a Masters student- the rigorous course work, practicals and thesis project have helped us immensely to pursue a career in research and other fields. The course has been improvised according to PhD admissions and job interviews- for example, introduction of maths and computational courses. There are project presentations every 6 months in the second year which is a great learning experience to be able to speak in front of panel members from different fields.
On top of that, the campus life is just incomparable. You will have the best time when you here. The campus is cheerful, has eating outlets of all kinds and has excellent facilities in terms of sports, dance and re-creation. There is a saying "It is difficult to get into IITB, but harder to get out of it". Get out of it meaning you just wouldn't want to leave it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an awesome department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, which was a pleasant surprise. It has a good faculty pool of highly skilled and knowledgeable professors. It has a modern and newly built building right next to the lecture hall complex, and has some awesome and well stocked labs. This is a heaven for people who would like to dabble into biology, biotechnology, and genetics.
