★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Forest department is established for management of the forest in and around Chandigarh. There is huge forest area around Chandigarh. The duty of forest department to protect ecological balance. The limits are defined by appropriate govt by notification under Forest Act. The department allows you to go inside the forest and has established park for outings. The application has to be moved to forest department 3 to 4 days in advance with details of all the visitors including children and registration no. if cars to be taken inside. The place is good for outings and must visit once. There is no restaurants or food joints... You have to take your own food.
