★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Desi is the apparel retail outpost for Charaka. They sell a small variety of styles of traditional Indian garments for men and women as well as a few men's shirts and accessories.
What you'll come to Desi for, is the beautiful assortment of handwoven fabrics, most of them hand yarn dyed in natural colours. The prices are really low and the products are well worth five times as much. Do not expect very finessed tailoring or perfect fabrics. There's a certain 'Wabi Sabi' aesthetic that is intentional.
The Charaka organisation itself is dedicated to preserving traditional fabrics from the region and providing self-employment opportunities for rural women.
All in all, this store is well worth a visit if you're in Bangalore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Desi Angadi is one of my favourite places to shop. Its products are reasonably priced, of high quality and ethically sourced- natural dyed and woven in cooperatives.
I have bought a wide range of products, including sarees, vests, jackets, shirts, kurtas, handkerchiefs, pouches, quilts, baby bags, jholas, towels, stoles, etc from them as gifts, and the receiptients have always loved and admired the gifts.
Located in an old house near SouthEmd circle, Desi is characterized by warm abd friendly staff. I only wish they retailed online as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's khadi shop, they have collection for all. For women dresses, saris and kurta. For men pants, shirts, short n long kurta. For home furnishings they have bed sheets, curtains, mats, table mats, decorative stuffs.
All their clothes and products are of natural die from traditional weavers of Karnataka.
Obviously you won't get different colors and range of collection here but it's again depends on purpose. Must try if you want to try something different than what you wear on regular.
Prices are quite reasonable.

Collections/designs are limited but if you are on a budget this is the place to be.
Staff are polite.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place to get the best handlloom clothes for both men and women. Organic and other desi products available. Desi shop is maintained very well. It is very very clean. People here are very courteous and explain in detail about every product. By shopping here we support our Desi artisans and in turn they will add more products to the Desi shop's. We have 3 Desi Shop branches in Bangalore: South End Circle branch, Seeta Circle Branch and Malleshwaram Branch. I have been told the South end circle and Geeta circle Desi shops in house more products. Buy Swadeshi. Vande Mataram.
