Design Cafe Experience Centre, Whitefield - Bengaluru

The experience of design phase was worst, there is no proper communication to the client, no sense of ownership towards the project completion, whereas project execution was good. Manoj (Project Execution Manager) made sure the job was done in proper manner. Though I would never want to recommend Design Cafe to anyone because of the design & sales team. I don't want to mention the designers name and it is not just the designer, it's the whole design team. I am giving 4 star only because of the work they have executed, if it would have been for the design i would have given in negative.

My experience with Design Café has been satisfying in terms of quality, execution, and design. Designer Kajal was assigned to my project. She is thorough in her work and took all inputs from us in incorporating them into design. She adds some components to the design from her repertoires e.g. rafters that turned out really well. She gave good amount of information on each aspect of design and design materials which had helped my selection process easy. Once you have sufficient information with various options, selecting one among them becomes quite easy as per your taste. Best part was she assisted through out the time to help with curtain selections, light selections, wallpaper selections etc. She has even helped providing genuine outlets so that you can compare and purchase the items. This helps in definite savings as well with best quality products. She was assisted by Surabhi, another designer, whose inputs on nitty-gritty details were helpful. In total Design Café has some of the best designers available who can make your home a sweet home. Design can go completely awry if it could not come out well during actual installation and production. As all materials are built at their own factory, you can see the finish comes out well as compared with local vendors work. Quality of materials are very good, and you will not have any apprehension on that aspect. Project Manager Kiran is a professional. His attitude towards work is appreciable. He is easygoing person and always ready to incorporate any last-minute changes though at times it may be difficult. His project execution skills are top notch. I liked his manners, being available always for any change/clarifications. He keeps communication flowing on the project status and gives timely feedback. I thank him for all the good work he has done in completing my project. Wish him more success. In broader sense, when I compared with couple of competitors of design café, I find DC stands out in terms of -Quality of material -No budget overrun or unwarranted changes to initial agreed budget. -Budget is cost effective and very competitive -As their slogan says they bring out more space via their design, I definitely can attest that. Word of Caution: -I had bad experience with Wallpaper installation. Most of them come with insufficient sizes. So, it took way too long to get it installed. So better you take the inputs from Designer and purchase on your own from various vendors available in your city. That will be quick and very easy. I happened to find there are distributors of Artisan and Marshall wallpaper in Bangalore from where you can purchase easily once you get the measurement and selections sorted from designer. Pay little attention on measurements. -The timing of completion will more or less 3 months from project initiations i.e., after 5% payment. So, if you are looking for early handover you may have issue on that aspect. - You may choose to do electrical work from Builder Electricital team as it may turn out cost effective. This is outside scope of modular design costing. You shall take couple of quotations for comparision and better judgement.

I got interiors done for my apartment through Design Cafe. It was executed in a very professional manner and I am very satisfied with the work done. I would like to thank Ms. Shiva, the designer who had put in a lot of effort in designing the interiors. The project manager, Mr. Nithin executed the project very well despite various constraints and I thank him for his planning and execution in a very satisfactory manner. Overall, the interiors have come out very well and met my expectations. Thank you Design Cafe.

Ravi was very cordial and supportive in getting the interior done on time. I did not expect them to finish on time especially looking at old reviews. But to my surprise, Ravi ensured it is finished on time. The experience with design cafe so far has been smooth. We just moved in from 23rd Jan and have few minor pending work but overall DC has delivered on promise. Thanks Ravi :)

I've had a good experience from the Design cafe team, special mention to Thaneesh for designing the project well, sorting out all the issues and doubts and customising it well. Manoj executed the project really well with a timely approach and helped out in completing the entire project in time and Prabhu who was always available on call for any minor changes we wanted in the carpentry part of the works. Over-all a good team job, just that the measurement job could have been done better, but that's alright.

The entire team of Design Cafe are amazing and really did a excellent work. I'm satisfied with their fair coordination and patience towards the customer and their good work. It was a nice experience to work with DC..right from the beginning they explained the process and everything was transparent and we were getting timely update. I outsourced my first house's interior work to Design Cafe. The sales executive Mr Gajendra was very cordial and informative, he was not very invasive in terms of following up multiple times to close the booking, which I highly appreciate. If i remember correctly i paid 5% of the estimate to start the process. Ms Ayushi was assigned as the designer for my project. She was adept in her craft and was quickly able to translate our requirements into gorgeous designs all the while keeping it utilitarian. She was very patient with our requests to alter designs and colour textures and accommodated multiple requests for updates.I was very happy with the end result, she enabled us in making informed choices about the materials, laminates counter top materials. I would suggest people to commence the design process early, 2-3 months before possession to allow the Designer to produce their best work. Note : The design phase begins with measurements at site, then a kick off meeting once the designs are more or less finalised. At the end of the design phase you should have 2D drawings with exact measurements and laminates,3D Presentation of the entire design & a 3D walkthrough of the entire house. Once the design is finalised, DC needs around 20 days for the production to complete depending on the project. So plan accordingly. You need to Pay upto 70% of total for the production to begin if i remember correctly. Initially I was assigned Mr Ravi as the project manager whose work ethic and style IMHO was not matching my expectation. DC has very good policies and provisions for such unfortunate cases in case this happens. I reached out to Ms Mohana, who was very helpful and at my request they changed the project supervisor promptly. The new supervisor Mr Guruteja though he was new to DC exceeded my expectation, had very good organisational skills and was prompt in communicating any roadblocks or changes up front. He took the initiative and had a second kick off meeting to sort out some points that were not considered during my first kick off. I appreciate him being very patient, we as homeowners sometime become very impatient when trivial things go wrong. Thanks Teja! Here is my experience with DC 1. They delivered quality modular work - the finish, edge-banding, HDMR quality is evident in their work. They have experienced carpenters who have been working with design cafe for more than 7+ years. Speaks well of the company culture. 2. If you feel you are not able to work with the project manager - Feel free to reach out to the project audit team/your designer they will help you remedy this. DC has clear cut process and protocols which I really appreciate. Do not get stuck with the wrong project manager - he or she is a key player in your interior delivery. 3. The designers were professional and produced outstanding designs in my budget. The were not pushy on premier laminates or materials on the contrary my Designer called out the pros and cons of each, for example quartz is very difficult to maintain in an Indian kitchen. Thanks Ayushi if you are reading this! 4. After delivery 3 soft close hinges were faulty, I raised a ticket on their maintenance system and the issue was rectified within 4 days. So fingers crossed hopefully this experience will continue. They have 10 yrs warranty [Which depends on different parameters, not everything is covered for 10 years.] 5. I had a hiccup with their electricians where i felt they were not that experienced. I had to monitor them. So If there was one thing i would change would be maybe get the builders electricians to do the electrical. 6. DC Deep cleaning vendor was not upto the mark. No interior company is perfect, but overall had a very good experience with DC in terms of delivery, the people i got to work with (Gajendra, Ayushi and Guru Teja), they have a sound process in place to ensure the customers voice is taken seriously.
