It is a huge fort. It was build by Mohammad Tugalaq I 13th century. Later it was acquired by Maratha Pawar. Bajirao ll born here. From out side fort looks very huge and beautiful gates of fort is huge and in good condition but when you enter inside the place is full of weed and insects. Dogs are here, garbage and bottles of bear and whisky, you can spot charsi here. Inside there is a museum which was a jail. Today it is in very bad condition.

Easy to recognize the fort. Very old monument. There is museum but closed on Monday. Entry is free. People lives inside the fort. Auto or bus can be easily available outside. Bus stand is near. Food stalls available outside the place. Peaceful place to study. The information boards should be available here.

A small fort , one km away from the Dhar bus stand, a Hanuman temple is there on the second gate , a small museum is there in the right hand side where photography is prohibited ,in the left hand side, climb the stairs to reach the kharbuja Mahal, where Peshwa Baji Rao the second was born .Not a must see attraction, but can be visited if one is in the town .

There are many such antiquities in Dhar Fort, there is a museum inside, many types of fragmentary sculptures have also been kept inside that museum.

This is a former 'fortified garden' turned fort turned backup fort :) Not to take away from its history, though - it has a rich series of events in it's past. As it stands now in March of 2021, there is some construction going on inside that blocks some minor pathways, but also sullies the otherwise open view (ramparts and two small mahals to be seen on the inside - which can take between 30-45 minutes to cover) of a largely empty/not-oft-visited place. There is a museum inside of which two small blocks (aside from the courtyard) are accessible and two are undergoing some form of maintenance. Visit to satiate your interest in old forts and to see some ancient statues/plaques on display. The latter will be charged (twenty rupees for entry, one hundred extra to take photo).

A very beautiful heritage site in the district headquarter of Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. Having a museum also inside it. A place of peace in the district town. A place of beauty and history. Must visit place.
