★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was suffering from Slip disc for almost 15 years and managing with medicines. I was advised surgery in 2013 however was not confident of the same. The pain was very severe and was difficult to even carry out my day to day activities. In Feb 2018, both my legs became stiff and I could not even walk ,then I consulted Fortis hospital and was again advised surgery, however was not confident. Immediately ,I went to Apollo and met Dr Karthik. The way he explained the procedure and the confidence with which he spoke, I was convinced to undergo the surgery.
During the surgery and post surgery , he has been guiding excellently and after 1.5 years I don't feel as if I have undergone a surgery , though a disk is removed and rods have been implanted for support.
He is a gr8 doctor and would definitely advise people suffering from Neuro or spinal issues to consult him once before taking a decision.
Thanks a Ton Doc for giving back a normal life !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am just 34 years old, was suffering from severe low back pain and pain spreading down the right leg.
After doing a MRI, Dr Karthik explained me that I have severe L5-S1 disc bulge and suggested to go for minimally invasive spinal surgery.
I got it operated by him at Apollo Hospital Bannerghatta Road. After 4 hours of surgery I was able to walk.
Now it's 1 month post surgery, pains are gone and I am able to walk correctly.
I am under observation with rest and slight medication.
Feeling a lot better and confident already. Overall, I have a very satisfying experience with Dr. Karthik sir.
I suggest this doctor for all your nuero and Ortho issues
Dr Karthik is very friendly, Listens to problems carefully, provides sufficient time to explain. Evaluates thoroughly and gives advice and
even shared his number and answered all my queries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My Mother had severe pain around spine. The first challenge was to identify the real issue, which Dr Kartik could identify and explain us in detail. He also explained us what needs to be done and the sequence of things to be followed. We met Dr Kartik for the first time and the same day we admitted our mother for Surgery. We are very happy with the way he handled this case considering the fact that my mother is 72 years old.
He also explained me when orthopaedic surgeon comes into picture and when neurosurgeon comes to rescue!! Listening to us, understanding our issue was very important which he did from mind and heart. Ofcourse these issues take time to settle down but Now i can clearly see that My mother is walking with great relief. Thanks Dr Kartik!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had disc bulge and disc degeneration (L5-S1) for over a decade with multiple episodes of severe back pain. I had developed leg pain over the past six months that became so excruciating that I was unable to stand or walk for more than a few minutes. I am a 31-year-old working woman, and this pain completely disrupted my personal and professional life. While I consulted several doctors, tried medication and physiotherapy, it was all in vain, until I consulted Dr. Kartik Revanappa and realized the severity of my condition. Dr. Kartik explained that the disc was severely compressing my nerves at the L5-S1 level, and advised for a lumbar decompression surgery to relieve the pressure. He patiently explained the entire procedure to me with all details and stages of recovery. He was available to answer my queries at all hours, both before and after the surgery.
I was admitted to Apollo Hospital Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, the day before the surgery; the staff at Apollo were polite and caring. I was able to walk within a few hours after the surgery, and it felt almost surreal to not have any leg pain after spending months in agony. Like many people, I was apprehensive about spine surgery, but having the surgery has completely changed my life for the better. I am glad to have had Dr. Kartik as my doctor; his friendly demeanor, patience, care, and vast experience in his field gave me a lot of confidence. It’s been three weeks since the surgery, and my life is almost back to normal. I cannot thank Dr. Kartik enough for everything he has done to give me my life back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One fine morning my wife had major jerk in lower back with severe pain and she was not able to move at all. As first aid, we showed to physician near to our locality, he tried symptomatic treatment, but pain was not coming down at all. We rushed to Apollo Bannerghatta Road in the night under advice of Dr. Manish Samson sir. With initial treatment to reduce the pain, advised to do MRI urgently and through MRI it was discovered that there was a slip disk at L4/L5 causing lumbar nerve compression. As disc was big and causing severe nerve compression, resulting in numbness in leg along with severe pain, there was no option but surgery.
Dr. Manish Sir referred us to Dr. Karthik Sir and informed us that Dr. Karthik Sir is one of the best neuro spine surgeons. Situation was critical as nerve remaining compressed was risky. Considering the situation, without losing time, Dr. Karthik Sir helped us to give his appointment for surgery next days itself. Admission was done on Sunday and Surgery was planned for Monday, before surgery Dr. Karthik sir met us in the ward explained the process to us and gave the complete comfort feeling, in fact he spoke to us in Marathi and made us more comfortable. We met Dr. Karthik sir first time, but the kind of comfort we received was very different. Surgery was done on Monday evening, after surgery, doctor came out of OT and informed us that surgery was successful, and I was extremely relieved, doctor asked me and my daughter to see her in observation ICU. Post surgery, there was lot of personal attention and care provided until she was discharged. Doctor gave us the post discharge plan explained us how to pain will come down gradually each day and how the recovery will progress. It happened exactly the same way, really appreciate the accuracy of recovery forecast. Now my wife is back to normal, walking normally, no pain, no numbness in legs. Dr. Karthik sir is extremely intelligent and skillful doctor, truly world class doctor. We are very grateful to Dr. Karthik sir for all the support, and everything done for us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr.Kartik has been a wonderful doctor in guiding and treating my lumbar discectomy surgery(L5 S1). I underwent this surgery in Apollo Hospital after finding the right doctor whom I could confidently rely on for a very common but an extremely detailed surgery. We went to Dr. Kartik after reading his reviews .Even though I had consulted couple of other doctors earlier to know the problem, it was Dr. Kartik who was very calm and clearly explained about this surgery to us. He was very much available to consult over the phone even during and after my hospitalisation.The pain I carried for the past 14 months vanished right after my surgery.I’m extremely thankful to the Doctor and also people who have shared their reviews in this platform.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In July 2021, I had sciatica in the right leg for which I consulted Dr Kartik. Doctor advised surgery because my MRI scan had showed that there was a disc protrusion that was compressing the spinal cord thereby causing sciatica. I must say that doctor patiently answered all my questions related to the surgery. The surgery was performed by doctor. After the surgery was over , I has no leg pain . My right leg was functioning normally again and I was able to be mobile. Post surgery there were follow-up consultations with doctor wherein I was prescribed medications and recommended few physiotherapy sessions to strengthen the back muscles. I can never thank doctor enough for performing the surgery well and relieving me of my pain . He is very patient, approachable and empathetic towards patients. He always inspires hope and that is what a patient seeks when they visit a doctor. I would recommend doctor for the surgery that I underwent.
