Several years ago, I received a call from a small hospital in Patna saying they had a young girl who needed surgery. Investigations, diagnosis, treatment… nothing was known. I was told to rush immediately else they might lose her.
Due to little surgical work those days, I reached the hospital in no time. There lay the patient, a 20 year old, running high temperature. Both her lower limbs were almost rotten with pus oozing out from them, gangrenous skin, septic shock and everything bad you could think of. TLC was around 40k and most other blood parameters were deranged. The diagnosis was ‘necrotising fascitis of both the lower limbs’, a life threatening condition.
With quick pre-op preparation and arrangement of blood along with an informed high risk consent of “death on table” from the attendants, we operated upon her. By God’s grace, the patient survived.
The patient’s family was too poor to pay anything to the hospital. Infact whatever little they had was spent in arranging for blood, initial medication and ambulance. She underwent multiple debridements (surgeries) and dressings to become better.
A week later, after she was stable, she was shifted to a government hospital. She ‘walked back’ to her village after two months.
A few months after this episode, I got a call from a gentleman, Ram Iqbal, who runs a small hospital in the same village. He invited me to his village and, as a token of gratitude and love, have ‘mutton and rice’ with them. He was the same person who had referred the patient to the city hospital.
I met the girl again 5-6 years ago. She’s now married and has two sons.
Ram Iqbal is now a dear friend. His elder son is in his final year of MBBS. My surgical team and I still go to the village every month and perform surgeries on people who otherwise don’t have the means to go elsewhere. The bonus is the handi cooked “mutton and rice” in the afternoon.
God truly has his own ways of writing beautiful stories. You never know when you become a part of it.

I would like to say that I received an incredible services from Dr Pushkar Anand. My wife was suffering with gallbladder stones with some complications and for which I was looking for a nice doctor to take care of my wife during the treatment.
One of my friend gave me a recommendation about Dr Pushkar Anand and I went and met him at SRS hospital in Noida.
when we met him he first of all calmed us down and said that nothing to worry.
To my surprise he never acted like the other money minded people do and play with the life of their patients.
He first of all simply gave some medicines and asked for some test and said that the surgery will be only done if the reports will come normal.
When everything was fine and my wife was ok for the surgery then only he opted to go for the surgery and he did the surgery in a very professional and very kind manner.
I also told him that I belong to a hospitality industry and because of the downfall during this lock down my job is no more he simply assured me that whatever you want to spend just let me know and I will take care.
It was unbelievable for me when I never reminded the doctor about this thing however when I went to the reception for the final billing I was already given huge discount by doctor Pushkar.
Moreover during the treatment and while my wife was admitted in the hospital for two nights the nursing staff & doctor, everyone took a great great great care of my wife.
We are really happy and my wife has completely recovered and I would like to only say that Dr Pushkar is someone to look at and for me I can keep on writing and writing and writing.
