★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rude behaviour that the patients have to face for asking simple questions is unacceptable. People aren't asking for medical advice for free, they are paying their hard earned money. Look elsewhere if you want your money's worth.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Saumitra Ray, one of the worst doctors i encountered in my life. Consulted him for a family member, being so reputed cardiologist in Kolkata, WB. He not only made the situation bad for the patient, but completely disowned any responsibility towards the patient when situation worsened. Atlast i had to move the patient to another doctor with another hospital to normalize health.
U can expect an analysis to go wrong from any doctor, but to wipe ur hands off completely from all responsibilities, from a doctor of his repute, towards a patient in critical time, is a shame for his name and standard....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't think Dr Saumitra Ray is a good doctor. I think he does not bother about individual patient's needs and prescribes medicines for commission. He did not change the medications for heart and diabetes for our patient according to the need. Ultimately the patient went from hypertension and hyperglycaemia to being bedridden with hypotension, hypoglycaemia and anaemia as a side effect of his medication. Still the doctor did not change the dose of his medicines and said keep continuing the same dose! So we stopped consulting him and changed doctors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Ray is a Conceited, Irresponsible and an Over-confident apology for a human being. He pretends to be nice but in reality he’s disgusting. He suffers from “God-Syndrome” & treats his patients like objects & his personal subjects. Initially I over-looked his acentric behavior thinking he must be a good Dr. but soon I realized he prescribed specific drugs only & mostly, over-dosed me. He wouldn’t listen to my complaints and when I messaged him on his cell phone a few times, he didn’t think I was worth his time & response so he blocked me on his phone. I shamelessly went to his house for a checkup & asked him why he blocked me, he had no answer accept to blame his mood swings. Oh did I mention, he’s quiet moody & he’s my neighbor too – unfortunately!! Last week he denied my elderly mother (also his patient) treatment & angiogram just cause we reached the hospital only 31 mins before the procedure where as he had ordered us to be there 1.5hrs (absolutely not needed as we had done all the pre-tests already and just the ECG was left) ahead of schedule. Also when my Mother messaged him about side-effects from his meds etc, he blocked her also. Can you believe a doctor who’s mentally unstable & unpredictable, is still practicing medicine & is also masquerading to be stable!!! He doesn’t think it’s his moral, ethical & legal responsibility & obligation to respond to his high fee-paying patients. Instead, he washes his hands of them if they question HIM the mighty GOD!! He loves patients who worship him & never question his methodologies or dosages or treatment. He forgets, WE THE PATIENTS PAY FOR HIS LIVELHOOD!!!! So think before you go to him as I have built my opinion based on me experiences with him. I contemplated suing him & the Hospital Woodland Hospital Alipur Kolkata, where he works, but decided he’s NOT WORTH MY TIME as he's a DISGRACE TO HIS NOBEL PROFESSION. There are much much better doctors than him who are more human & less Gods. Had this been US or Europe he would’ve long lost his license for denying his own patient treatment & misbehaving as well. His arrogance is wrongly placed and he’s unworthy of being a doctor. We trusted him – But that was a HUGE mistake!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi ? myself Prasenjit Das I m 33yrs from Assam Guwahati. Dr. Saumitra Ray is one of the best doctor for me because he saved my life on 2016. While the report from Assam totally given wrong that i have water in my stomach and i went to kolkata with all my reports they told me to do again all the test we want to check here once more because we don't believe in Assam reports. Again i done my all reports in kolkata and found no water in my stomach only liver enlarge stomach infection and cholesterol high. Dr. Saumitra Ray he gave me first medicine which one i can't feel good and after two days i spoke over phone he change my liver medicine and he understand my ploblem and he challenge me that within 3months i will make you curable but within 2 months i feel better his medicine and work nicely with me. If i don't get him today i won't be here. He is not only a doctor he is a God for me and he saved my life. And he is very honest and discipline doctor he is always response me in my WhatsApp and he helps me lot for my families....????? thankyou so much Sir i won't forget you other peoples don't know how much you understand him but i know he is one of the best and challenging doctor. Thankyou once again Saumitra Sir for saved my life on 2016. God Bless U.....?my blessings is always with you forever....???.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We pay a hefty amount to doctors for their valuable advice. But there are some doctors in Kolkata who suffer from God syndrome and treat their patients as dirt under their feet. Dr. Soumitra Ray is one of them. The abusive manner in which he responds to patient's simple queries is unimaginable. I think he seriously needs psychiatric help. I would advise every one to boycott this megalomaniac who is a shame in the name of a doctor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would agree with most of the comments about this doctor. For someone with over 20 years of experience, he makes people feel alienated including the direct attendants of a patient.
And the consultation fees charged is absolutely not worthy of the services rendered because he does not even give an acknowledgement receipt.
