I went for a consultation with Dr Patra recently regarding a gynaecological problem. She was very patient with me and listened to all my concerns and answered all my queries politely. The best part I liked was she does not prescribe you too many unnecessary medicines if not required. Highly recommended.

Very worst treatment and very poor friendliness with patient. Low communication with patient and couldn't understand the exact problem of patient. Less informative and poor medication skill .. Visited with my wife few days before @apollo gleneagles and they charged Rs. 1100/- but all is worst.. pls don't visit Dr. Sharmistha Patra as she is really a worst doctor with very less knowledge.

Firstly I would like to thank Dr. Patra for her consultation during my wife's pregnancy and successfully performing cesarean delivery. My wife was under Dr. Patra from day 1 and we both are very thankful to her. As a doctor we found her very caring, polite, listens to the patient queries and answer them in details.Her constant encouragement when we were tensed gave us courage and she was always there when we needed. Infact on the day of delivery, my wife was admitted to the hospital under emergency situation and as soon as she was informed of the condition by the hospital authority she was there in the hospital and successfully performed cesarean delivery. After the surgery she nicely explained the condition of the mother and baby to our family.Post delivery as well she mentored us and we are following her guidance. We have now become a proud parents of a baby boy. In future also we won't think twice to revisit her for consultation. We would strongly recommend Dr. Patra and would rate her as one of the best obstetrician & gynecologist doctor. We wish her all the very best in her family life as well as in her professional career as a doctor.Thank you once again.

Dr. Sharmistha Patra is not only a very good Doctor she is just like God for me. I was covid 19 possitive when My labour was increased. She operates me nd gives a cute baby. She is very friendly and co operative. From my end she is the best doctor in all over the world. Thank you mam. Thanks a lot.

Well even though the 5 star is on the higher side, the poor ratings had 1common point that she is rude in behaviour sometime and money monger. I felt the rudeness is relative and depends on the stress level but for fees 700INR I see as standard fees for any Apollo doctors offering consultancy other than Apollo site, though it is bit higher for many common people but there is no compulsion that you have to go to her only. Again going by the negative reviews not every reviews can be faked. I was just researching on your profile madam since I was planning to visit for my wife but now bit skeptical. But no hatred speech nor condemning your practise, just shared my neutral feedback as Google researcher. We common people rely on doctors and give our life stake at their hand so I feel a bit pre bgc is essential for all before anyone goes to any consultant

Highly recommend doctor and gynaecologist specifically. Communication/Behaviour-Very good and clear . Lucky to find such docter nowdays really. Visited for my wife's health problems and her first baby. I recommend her on the first place to my any acquaintance for any gynaecologist requirements.

I knew we have found a very good gynaecologist when Dr. Sharmishtha Patra very efficiently cured my recurring UTI in 2019. I didn’t have any problem thereafter. A month back, I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids and related complications. I was advised by her to surgically remove the fibroids. Dr. Patra was very positive and confident in her approach and assured me that my reproductive system will remain unaffected. Since there were multiple large fibroids an open abdominal myomectomy was needed. Dr. Patra did a wonderful job and successfully removed all the fibroids. She checked on me post surgery and was very satisfied herself with the surgery which gave me and my husband an immense sense of relief. She also explained us diagrammatically the removal process of the fibroids. I was discharged in 3 days post surgery. In my experience, Dr. Patra is not only the best gynaecologist in Kolkata, but one of the best doctors I have ever come across, and I have known a few. She is calm, methodical and a thorough professional. She listens to the problem and provides best advice. She is firm but fair and always to the point in her consultations. She is available online if needed. She responds to all the queries very politely. I highly recommend her.

Giving 2 rating to Apollo for its infrastructure and services during the procedure and possibly a “negative rating” for the doctor for her "unethical", irresponsiveness" and "money minded" nature. (And, there are enough evidence available to back the above statement when I say this to a doctor and can be produced if this has to be dragged to Apollo management or for any legal proceedings for that matter) 20/08 - I went for a consultation "first time" to Dr Patra. On our first visit it was assessed and advised by the doctor to take me through a Gyno procedure under general anaesthesia. On asking about the potential risk of the procedure and side effects of general anaesthesia, she got annoyed and respond very harshly putting the onus on us about the impact of not undergoing the procedure, instead of explaining us the line of treatment and its impact in a respectful and caring manner. Nevertheless, based on our past experience with Apollo (though it was my first visit to Dr Patra) we trusted and agreed to undergo the procedure on 11/09. 11/09- I was admitted to the hospital in the early morning. The procedure was done at around 1 pm and later I was shifted to the normal bed and from their got discharged in the evening on the same day. Post procedure the doctor had confirmed that the required sample was collected and sent for Biopsy report and I was advised to see her along with the report after 7 days. 17/09- As advised by the doctor tried contacting her assistant to get her appointment on 25/09 to show the report. Left message on WhatsApp as per the norm told to me and tried calling him as well to get the appointment confirmed. Surprisingly, there was no response from her assistant. On the next day on 18/09 I informed the doctor on her WhatsApp seeking an appointment confirmation as her assistant was not responding. But there was no response from her either. After not getting response back for next couple days I finally I went to an another Gynaecologist just to get the Biopsy report checked to know if the report was alright. The other doctor confirmed that the report was normal and there was nothing to worry. Then on 25/09 evening I shared that same report with Dr Patra on her WhatsApp to check her response, since I didn’t get any response from her and her assistant against my request for her appointment. And the response that I received from Dr Patra was exactly as below, which really surprised me. "Please make a payment of fee through Google pay of Rs.700 on this mobile number itself for consultation and share the screenshot to proceed with consultation" This was supposed to be a follow up consultation along with the Biopsy report post the medical procedure done by Dr Patra. It was also supposed to be her responsibility as the doctor who did the medical procedure to complete the treatment cycle by reviewing the report and advice on the result of the test, which was done based on her advice. I was stunned seeing such demand from her on WhatsApp and wondering under what compulsion she might have done this. May be this was her sheer ignorance and avoidance, for a reason which was well known to here or apparently, she wanted to just convert this to her own business for personal earnings and hence both she and her assistant decided not to respond and encourage physical consultation and had instructed her assistant to handle it accordingly to delay and push for personal consultation. In either case this was irresponsive, unethical and dishonest act toward me as a patient of her and a customer of ApolIo. Seems she had forgotten her Hippocratic Oath that she would have (I believe) sworn when became a physician. Anyways, we always respect doctors and believe them like a god to us, whom we trust and expect some empathy and honesty in return. Such exceptional behaviour from a doctor is rare and unfortunate for us and for our society. May God give her little empathy and humanity, so that she could server people more as a doctor than a businessman.
