★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr T K Samanta is the best vet in the city! He is polite and listens to all the questions with utmost patience and answers them confidently. He saved my puppy from a dangerous tick infection and I will always be grateful to him. I will strongly recommend him always. Even his assistants are very well-mannered, great at their work and assists whenever needed. His fees are also reasonable and it is very evident how much knowledge he has about this field!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did not have quite a good experience with him. When I had to travel with my dog two weeks back, I called to take an appointment for a health certificate. Being in the profession for so long, I naturally assumed that he would be aware of the documents required and the procedure. He didn't even ask if my dog was vaccinated but the first thing he asked is "are you ab regular at my clinic" which took me aback for obvious resons. When I told no he suggested I go to a government hospital and get the health certificate as they are better equipped to deal with it (so strange as issuing a certificate is no rocket science, the dog needs to be vaccinated and other health checks done). When I insisted that my vet in Mumbai is a private practitioner and he carries out necessary health check before issuing the certificate he somehow relented and said "ok, come, we will see if we can issue". The sound of uncertainty in his voice got me so mad, I decided to check for others. I had approached him solely on the basis of reviews on Google but not everyone has the same experience. And I should inform pet parents who travel with pets that the health certificate is issued only 24 hrs prior to travel and not before that. Imagine the condition I was in looking for a vet who could check my dog's health and issue a cert. Thankfully I got in touch with another vet, who was later vetted by my friend and I took her there. They checked all her vaccination certs, asked revelant questions and only then issued a certificate.
I wish he was better informed and well-equipped to handle my urgency.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been going to Dr. Samanta for over 30 years and we can vouch that he is a brilliant doctor. He is extremely reliable and will never misguide you. Even though one of our dogs was very sick at birth and turned obese later on, under Samanta's guidance he lived a full life of 11 years 8 months (Labrador).
We were sorely misinformed about another one of our babies, the other doctor stating he has kidney issues and will not survive for the usual life span, as well as putting him on a special kibble only diet. But Dr. Samanta correctly diagnosed it not to be related to kidney and we could finally start on correct treatment.
