★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Durgapur is a model railways station on the Bardhaman–Asansol section. It is located in Paschim Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves Durgapur, the third most populous city in West Bengal, and the surrounding industrial areas. It was ranked the third-cleanest railway station in India in 2019.
The first passenger train in eastern India run from Howrah to Hooghly on 15 August 1854. The track was extended to Raniganj by 1855.

3. Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line.

The front facade of the station building has been completely renovated and beautified with ceramic tiles, which have been fixed on the walls. Matching with the new look of the front facade, new facade lights have also been installed, which beam out bright and enchanting colours during the night hours.
The stairs towards the station platforms have been renovated with the help of granite stones. A new nameplate for the station board, made up of stainless steel has been placed beside the entrance towards the platform. This has been decorated with focus lights and a sprinkler fountain.
A new station entry gate has been constructed on the eastern side of the circulating area, separating the entry and exit of taxis and other private vehicles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good market with shops for almost every items you may need. Rates are also reasonable but you can still bargain to get the best rate. Roads are narrow so if you are coming by four wheeler then you have to struggle finding parking space because there is none. You have to park vehicle far away and then have to walk down to the market. During times it can get very busy and even you have to struggle walking. But overall you will have a satisfactory shipping experience. Located just outside Railway Station.

Kanta Saaree store is fabulous and have excellent collection of saaris within range. Mane other shops are also reasonable and can suffice to your daily need staffs anytime. Good market overall. The roads are narrow and lot of traffic. No traffic controller and people ride bikes and cars without any adherence to traffic rules.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very congested market. All shops are available. Famous for garments shopping. All over 150 garment shops are there. Approx 10 huge grocery shop.3 or 4 prestigious jewelry shops are also there. Famous bakery of Durgapur "Paramount" is there. There have many fast food centre. One or two restaurants (on the road from station bazar to sabarbhanga more). But there have no such books stall as you can get your necessary books. A few book stalls are there. However over all good but best for garments.
