★ ★ ★ ★ ★ North/ Northern Gate (उत्तर द्वार) or Elephant's Gate (हस्ति/ हाथी द्वार) is one of the four gates meant for the people who come for mukti (मुक्ति). The Elephant's Gate have no Elephant statute at present. Long ago on each side it had a colossal figure of elephant, which is said to have been disfigured during invasions. Subsequently, these figures were repaired and placed at the northern gate of the inner enclosure (कूर्म बेढ़ा).
