β β β β β This is in response to Mr Gawarle's post.
I always thought that I have seen all types of patient's relatives but this is the worst.
Mr Gawarle's brother collapsed at home and was brought to my hospital in semiconscious state and was convulsing. His SpO2 was 72%,BP 180/110 , pulse 120/min.
We thought he suffered stroke and aspiration. Accordingly treatment started. Inj mannitol, strocit, levipil, oxygen ,IV fluids etc and monitoring.
Ryle's tube inserted to prevent further aspiration.
He regained consciousness but was very agitated.
By this time Mr Gawarle turned up and wanted to come inside ICU but was miffed at being refused permission.
After settling the patient when I went for counseling Mr Gawarle simply told me that he wanted to shift the patient to another hospital. The ambulance turned up after some time and the patient was shifted.
Till this time the hospital didn't charge a single rupee.
As the bill was being prepared the sole remaining relative told us that he will deposit Rs 5000/- and will settle the bill afterwards.
Now after 3 days Mr Gawarle turned up today and created ruckus.
He wanted to replace the medicines as he is a pharmacist and own a medical shop, Siddhivinayak medical, hanuman nagar.
He became angry when we informed him that the pharmacy didn't have any such policy.
He paid hospital bill of Rs 3000/- which includes intensivist charges, monitoring, oxygen, nursing, RMO etc .
He also paid Rs 700/- (out of 777/-) to the pharmacy. Total bill was 3700/- Remaining amount 1300/- returned to him.
So what I got by attending emergency in Rs 3000/-
1. An untested patient was handled by all ICU staff exposing them to covid,HIV,HBsAg,HCV etc
2.An ungrateful relative who didn't appreciate that our efforts may have saved his brother's life.
3. Mr Gawarle being a pharmacist is so ignorant that he didn't know how much time it takes to start a IV line, RT insertion, suctioning, managing convulsions etc
And if he claims that his patient remained in this hospital for just 15 minutes then it's a new record for me for ultrafast treatment and I'm glad and appreciate my ICU team.
4. But what pains me most is that Mr Gawarle being a pharmacistand related to medical field stoop to such low level (Rs 777.16 to be exact) that he chose to defame me and my hospital publically for not replacing medicines worth Rs 700/-
I know that this is a thankless job made difficult by such ungrateful people.
May he be blessed with good sense.
