OK for a quick stop, but not at all necessary of you are going to the fort in Agar. Most of the once vast fort is in ruins. The kept up area is filed with vendors who about take no for an answer. The harassment makes it almost impossible to enjoy, and I had a guide.

While the place itself is beautiful, something should be done to get rid of the menace of unsolicited guides swarming tourists and not letting people enjoy this monument. Pitching your service once or twice is acceptable but at this place as soon as you enter the town the guides surround you ( as young as 10 years old boys, so certainly not ASI accredited) and keep pestering you till you leave this place.

I have to say, if you have not visited Fatehpur Sikri, you're missing out on a Mughal architectural marvel. The beautiful thing that it is, it is a sight to behold. I won't go into details of the architectural wonder it is, but don't miss this. However, a caution. This place is over-run with touts and apparent guides and students masquerading as guides throughout the structure. They have folks who will hound you, every step of the way. One guy leaves, another guy joins. Our Taxi operator shared that it was a loot scheme, as they would entice you in with low guide rates and then use coercion and other techniques to force money out of you. The biggest issue with Fatehpur Sikri are these people. The place is brilliant. Please note, the parking to structure journey has to be done by a bus, which is at a walk from the parking. As of January '22, the rates are Rs. 20 per person. There would be a collection of Rs. 10 per person on the Agra Development Authority tax (which can be easily done via UPI, NO CASH!) Steer clear of the touts.

An underrated gem near Agra which should be visited by even more tourists than present day. The fort is so well maintained and well preserved that it’s hard to believe that is over 500 years old. The architecture and the finishing work of trees and ornaments on the walls is spectacular. You should hire a guide here 200₹ and get to know more about the stories behind these interesting designs.

This is a historical and religious place. Indeed you need a good guide. There are crooks around in disguise of guide so be aware and ask for their identity card. Worth visiting the tomb, The entry gate and the fort.

I was mesmerized by the beauty of the work I saw in there. The designing in the walls, infrastructure, system engineering, everything was so detailed. I am amazed by the work they had done. Must visit. One of a kind of experience.

Nice experience. Always book a tour guide else you'll end up seeing some old buildings and you'll not get full satisfaction in your tour. Plan B: If anyone else has booked a guide, do follow them and stand a little far from them. ?
