★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was interested in volunteering to teach. I was looking to join in an educational institution which is run by an NGO. Then a friend of mine, introduced me to Friends of Children Trust. I have received warm welcome from the organisation and response from the volunteers made me feel comfortable.
I have been associated with the organisation for 3 months now. My journey so far has been great. They have encouraged me to express my ideas and gave freedom to carry them out. I just love teaching the kids. They are always curious to learn new things.
One fact that inspired me is that, no one is employed to look after the operations. The entire show is run by the alumni with the guidance of the founders of the Trust. Not even a single penny is spent on the administration expenses. They don't follow hierarchical management structure. Every volunteer is treated equally without any discrimination.
If you are looking to volunteer to teach in an NGO, it is the perfect place to start with. Just walk into Bhavan Bangalore Press School, Chamrajpet, on any Sunday and experience it yourself. I am sure you will be delighted to join the organisation.
