This guest house is the Indiahikes base for Kedarkantha and Har Ki Dun Trek. I can’t comment about the price since it was included in our trek package but the rooms & their cleanliness was at par. Rooms are more spacious than hotels in the town.

This place is just fantastic in view and almost last village for Govind Pashu Vihar National Park entrance Sankri Village. Guest house is located at height in village and having 4 rooms with 4 beds each capacity and hot water facility available in washroom. Staff is very nice. Buses are available easily from outside of guest house.

The caretakers were sleeping with a hangover throughout the day and just opened the door after we knocked for several minutes. The rooms were untidy and the toilet was in a horrible state. NOT EVEN FLUSHED. Upon complaint, they said "they'll get it fixed" and went back to sleep in their own room. Don't be fooled by the name, while the property is still owned by GMVN, the locals told me that it has been given to a private Dehradun company, 'Himalayan Ambition' under a tender. The caretaker refused to refund and we vacated the place within 30 minutes due to hygiene reasons. It is better to suffer a loss of money than ruin one's health and experience. You can find many better options to stay in Sankari. Swargarohini Hotel was good, there are other homestay and small hotels/guesthouses also which will be a much better experience. Don't ruin your trek experience by staying at this place please.

Nice Guest house by GMVN, though an old building. New rooms are under construction. GMVN has leased it to private contractor who has renovated it and building new rooms. Its nicely located and has good enough parking space. Food prepared by the cook was nice, ever got pancakes in the breakfast which was delicious. Rooms are big and neat with three beds. Washrooms are also neat and clean with 24 hours running hot water. And it is reasonably priced too.
