We had a short but wonderful experience. I went along with my kids and its a memorable experience. The path towards waterfall is full of stones and rocks, with a complete uneven surface. It gives a small trek type experience which is worth enjoying with kids. The approach road is also good. It would be memorable experience for college/school going kids, small family. But it is not a place for elderly citizens.

GawaliDev is a real blessed place on Mhape to Thane Road through MIDC. Easily accessible by road, by auto from Ghansoli Railway station. While going from Mhape towards Thane you can see on the right side the proper name bord "गावळीदेव'. There is good dedicated parking area beside the road where we can safely park 4 wheelers / bikes. It has got the dense forest and lush green trees all over. The Forest Department has also taken nice efforts to maintain this place. They have provided the wild life information boards. At entrance after few steps there are two separate toilets for Gents and ladies ia also available. The main monsoon attraction here is a giant waterfall. Let me make it more precise - Only during heavy rainy days. As you climb for 15/20 minutes you could hear the roaring sound This fall's flow is based on the lake above on the tol if the hill. If the lake is full and still it's raining then only the waterfall will have roaring showers. This waterfall is considerably high fall. One must take precautions while going below the showers and avoid it too. The water flow is not that fast sometimes. The main GawliDev Temple or the idol is on the top of the waterfall and there is another route to reach there. There is a proper route marking board available. From this board it us again 10 minutes climb. It's not somesort of big / small temple. It is just beside the upper part of waterflow. From here u can have a nice areal view of Navi Mumbai. The lake is still more further than this temple. U need to climb more 5/10 minutes. Calm lake on top of the hill. May be good in rainy season only. Not advisable to swim. There are mosquitos around. All the above details are based on the visit in July 18 on one very rainy Sunday morning. Humble request to all Go and Enjoy the Nature and bring down all your plastic, liquor bottles etc. Do not spoil the beauty and if anyone is doing so please prevent him. We must preserve it so that we should be able to visit again.???

Gavli Dev waterfall and bird watching sanctuary is located in the  Ghansoli Hills. There are no food store so please carry your food with you. It is located at the eastern boundary of Ghansoli town, behind the office complex of RCP . The hill or better hillock is a part of small range that separates Kalyan and Navi Mumbai towns. A search on Google Map returns with a name Parsik Hill for it, though there is one more rather famous Parsik Hill in Navi Mumbai. A Central Road runs along the western edge of the hill and can be reached through the Vashi-Mhape road. We later found that there’s a Bus stand and a Gavli Dev Temple-board at the Central Road only, from where one can start trekking.

Nice small waterfall with an easy climb. Great to visit in monsoon season. Route is easy and well marked with steps at places. You can climb on top as well. There's a well on the way to top.

Gavli Dev water fall is a famous waterfall and Bird sanctuary of Navi Mumbai region based in mahape to Rabale area. The waterfall comes to Thane forest zone of Maharashtra forest department. This is a hidden Beauty of Navi Mumbai Nagar Palika area. One can go off road a bit next to industrial area and find the Water fall an awesome picnic spot. Sadly, due to Corona people are being challaned by municipality people in the name of corona despite having ? on. When its ok to visit, do visit and enjoy the Water fall with a beautiful journey to Jungle, Hike, and an amazing Nature ???. Be curious and caring while on the go due to cheetah ? spotted on the area too. Avoid going in corona time now as u might be fined.

If you want to do a small quick 1 hour trek within the city then this is a nice quick gateaway in Navi Mumbai. It starts with steps at the start and then there's a climb to the top towards the waterfall. Best time to visit is during monsoon as there is a lot of greenery and the waterfall is active. You can trek in non-monsoon season also, just that there will be no waterfall. Also, the view from the top gives the landscape of the city and in the background is the beautiful looking sky and a sunset is the best to see here. Since it is covered with trees it is relatively cooler in here. There are no eateries around so do carry water and snacks along with you. There's a parking space for 2 and 4 wheeler at the base but if there's a crowd then you will have to park to the opposite of the road. Overall a wonderful experience and one that you can go with kids and beginners.
