★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to visit with family and friends. But mostly couples can be seen. Ticket is 25 rupees per head. Tomb is on opposite side of the road. Security guards are available at the premises. Clean washrooms are there inside the fort.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Ghiyasuddin Tughlak Tomb is an imposing structure made in red sandstone laced with white marble decorations in the right proportions adding to its beauty. A unique feature of this monument is also its tapered walls that are unusual for the architecture of those times.
I visited this tomb at the same time as the Tughlakabad Fort since this place is right across the road that ruptures the causeway that originally connected the tomb with the fort. In the medieval period, there was a bog on either side of the causeway making it impossible to cross over from the tomb site to the fort.
In the middle of this space is the mausoleum that hosts the tomb of Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq and his wife. The entrance suggests that this was originally a Hindu temple that was repurposed for a tomb according to the tour guide. The parts of the Kalash that adorned the original temple are well preserved and can be seen even today in one of the storage rooms within the complex.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The tomb is well kempt and cared for. There is a beautiful green lawn surrounding the tomb. You will definitely find monkeys playing on the green lawns, although they didn't attack anyone on the day of my visit, but eating food in their presence became a problem.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tughlaq Tombs in the Indian subcontinent are mostly simple, monotonous and heavy structures in Indo-Islamic architecture built during the Tughlaq dynasty (1320–1413). They look more like fortresses with walls surrounding them and have restrained decoration and embellishment compared to both earlier and later Indian Islamic tombs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located right opposite Tughlaqabad Fort, this tomb is dedicated to Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq and two persons buried with him are estimated to be his wife and son and heir Muhammad Bin Tughlaq.
Predating the Taj Mahal by over 300 years this mausoleum shows the use of marble for decorating a building but not for construction of it. The dome is completely built of marble.
Same ₹20 ticket that one has to buy for Tughlaqabad Fort gives you access to this site too.
Steep steps lead onto the platform where the mausoleum is built but before accessing the building you have to be careful about the monkeys sitting outside who are fed be general members of the public.
