Gir Forest National Park is a wildlife sanctuary in Gujarat, western India. It was established to protect Asiatic lions, who frequent the fenced-off Devalia Safari Park, along with leopards and antelopes. Gir Jungle Trail, outside the fenced area, traverses deciduous forest and is home to wildlife including vultures and pythons. The Kamleshwar Dam has marsh crocodiles and birds, such as Indian skimmers and pelicans.

The only place in the world to see Asiatic Lions. Very well maintained, and the forest staff is continuously working towards protection of this iconic species. Also home to Indian Leopards. The sightings of this majestic beast are on luck only but the staff also supports you in sighting one.

I did open jeep safari with my parents and it was the most thrilling experience of our life. Driver and guide (Jignesh) were great. They wanted to make sure we see lions and we did. We saw 2 lions, 2 lionesses and 2 cubs. Gir jungle is beautiful and house other animals like deer, wild boar, peacock etc. The authorities are very well taking care of the area. A must visit for anyone who wants to seek jungle adventure.

Must visit place. Gypsy Jungle Safari is another level experience. 40km safari and 3hours in total. 1 Gypsy can accommodate upto 6 people not more than that. Lion, leopard(rare) , lioness, cub, peacock, male deer with long horns can be frequently seen. We were fortunate enough to witness a leopard ?
