Name is sufficient for the people of Berhampur. Girija restaurant is famous for mainly chicken dishes and the signature dish is chicken pakoda ( fried chicken). The other famous dish is methi ( Fenugreek) chicken. This dish is a creamy and buttery flavour. They serve different kinds of chicken dish like ginger chicken, chilly chicken, Butter chicken, chicken masala. They have an appetizer called CHARU (a south indian dish, a kind of tamarind spicy water). They serve this appetizer as a complimentary.

Went there for popularity and love for chicken .Taste is fine but the place is not at All hygienic.we order chicken pakoda/prawn/mushroom/flower .found chicken only nice .instead of visiting the restaurant I would prefer ordering the food and have it at home .Though not sure how much hygiene they maintain while preparing food.

When food is so good that you turn a blind eye to the ghastly vibe of the unclean place, you know you have a legendary outlet at your hands! Chicken pakoda and methi chicken is to die for. Dare I say, two of the best chicken dishes I have had. Period. The biryani is horrible, masala naan is decent and all other chicken dishes are good, if not exemplary. But the chicken is so tender, it melts in the mouth and at the end of the day, the taste is king.

One of the worst biriyani i've in this restaurant...me n my friend ordered 2 chicken biryani and they serve us veg fried rice with 2chicken pieces thats their chicken biryani ....really brother....n pudding was not soo good ..staff behaviour is also not good they behave like u r like a street dog n came to beg food ..soo if u want to save money n time dont go to this restaurant ..u can try the street side food stalls their food far better than this place ...really their food just spoil that day ...if there is minus rating available i will give -5..thats it..?

Totally waste of money Waste of time

We have ordered their famous chicken pakoda. The quality was good. Taste as well. Chicken was succulent. Other than chicken pakoda we have ordered pudding, which was average. Place was not hygienic. Mass crowd. Plates and glasses were not well cleaned. Not a fine dining restaurant. So dont expect any hygiene.

**Yummy Chiken Pakoda** I travelled first time to any city in Odisa so was very excited to try food here. I wanted to try Pidha hotel but it's closed on Saturday evening. Never the less, people had highly recommended me to try chicken pakoda at Girija restaurant. It's not easy to find this place without using Google maps. This place is not at all like the classy restaurant even though it's famous in foodies for it non vej dishes. I started with its signature dish 'Chiken Pakoda' and in the first bite itself got to know why it's such a favourite. The chicken was tender, well cooked with balanced spices. Then I tried methi chicken, which is second signature dish. Being from Maharashtra, it was a delight to taste Methi chicken with butter naan. The taste is really good, chicken again was well cook and spice level was ok. Then to end my meal, I had to try pudding. Not too sweet but taste was good. Now let's see how it stands on CLAPS rating: C - Cuisine: This place is know for its non-vej dishes and you will enjoy the food here. A full ⭐ here. L - Location: For a new person, It's bit hard to find without Google maps as it's not on main street. But foodies, it's our place in Berhampur. I would give it half ⭐ here. A - Ambience: It has a basic sitting area, nothing classy. Come, sit, eat and go. They really need to keep the place look clean. You can see the area where the food is kept and from where it's servered, it needs to be clean. No ⭐ here. P - Price: I had chicken pakoda, methi chicken, butter naan and pudding just in 300rs. That's affordable. Full ⭐ here. S - Service: Service was quick. I just had to order and the dish was on my table. Only thing is no one will come to ask you what you want, you will have to find the waiter and order your food. Waiters are polite. I would give it half ⭐ as it's responsibility of people here to keep the place clean. Overall if I ignore cleanliness then the food was worth a try. Take parcel and enjoy in the coziness of your home. Note: This review is based on my personal experience and you may have a different experience.
