★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gondeshwar Temple , Sinnar.
DOP: 31 Oct 21
One of magnificent hemadpanthi style temple I have ever visited. This temple built by Yadavas in approx 12 century is a beauty of architectural structure.
It is in the form of panchayatna style with main shrine in the centre facing east west of lord Shiva and four temples at four corners of Ganesh , Parvati, Surya and Vishnu.
The carvings on the pillars depict scenes from Ramayana. On the outside wall there are sculptures of elephant head all around the temple outside wall( see the video). On the west side there is a sculpture of crocodile mouth through which water is flowing.
When viewed from west against light it resembles the Balaji mukut (see pic).
The tombs have unique carvings all throughout.
The hugeness of the temple, the symmetry of the structure, the carvings constructed in 12 century is simple amazing and awestrucks you.
A master piece worth visiting.
Attaching few pictures.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gondeshwar Temple is located in
Sinnar. It is built in the Hemadpanthi style of architecture, which was popularized by Hemadri Pandit, also known as Hemadpant, a minister during the Yadav Dynasty. The most striking feature of the construction was the use of locally available black stone and lime, glorifying the localcraftsmanship. The degree of skill that went into making the carved panels and the entire design of the temple is awesome.Fabulous architecture and landscape.
The main temple is of Shiva and there are other temples located besides it.

Gondeshwar temple is a very beautiful temple built in the Hemadpanthi style of Architechture. During the Adilshahi rule in Maharastra. This style became very popular and came to be known as the Hemadpanthi style. The Gondeshwar temple is one of the few structures of this style still in good shape. It is a Shaiva Panchayatan, or a group of five temples within a large enclosure. The central shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the remaining four around it are temples to Sri Parvati, Sri Ganapati, Surya Bhagwan and Lord Vishnu. The temple is truly unique in design, perfect in proportion and the stone carvings are exquisitely beautiful. The pillared hall carved with tortoise, the Kurma Avatar of Lord Vishnu, on the ground, is small, elegant and unique in this part of the country. The structure was constructed using the locally available black basalt stone and lime. The temple’s origin dates back to 12 – 13th century during Yadava dynasty. Some sources claim that Raj Govinda of Yadava dynasty built this great temple. It lies 30 km southeast of Nashik city on the Nashik – Pune Highway. Gondeshwar Temple is situated about 2 km from Sinnar Bus Station and it represents the best example of the Hemadpanti style of architecture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place to visit with the family and friends. Extremely quiet and still. The place has been maintained well but they should plant more trees over there. The outside area of the complex should be clean as well as the inner area. They should not allow those who spits "pan" or "ghutka" everywhere. The architecture of the temple is extremely great
