★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's location is prime. Most of the rooms are not well maintained. There is menace from monkeys almost all over the place. Some rooms are very secluded. Staff is fine and they try to accomodate whatever they can. Restaurant rates are reasonable and food is very good to taste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this is good palace. average u can say. not very clean. room service in daytime available but in morning and night it will not be available. try to book room below 100 no. not so maintain. location is on mall road but very far from lift parking in shimla.

Very good location offering 360 degree view of whole city.
Near to Mall road and Ridge area.
Staff is very cooperative and restaurant and rooms are very good and spacious.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rate for stay in hotel per night is negligible @ Rs. 300/- per night but at the same time, the management is very poor. I was at third floor and there was one mouse in the sofa and this mouse kept irritating me until I shifted sofa outside my room. The hotel has no room service and you hve to arrange everything for yourself.
I would say that better to stay in a hotel which might cost your pocket but it will be less painful compared to the stay at this hotel.

1. Location of this hotel is very good.
2. One of the biggest hotel area in shimla and almost every room has its window showing Himalayan beauty.
3. Inside restaurant which is well maintained and price of food is very reasonable.
Cons.
1. Only for government employees @300₹/- double bed room.
2. This building have several block but all blocks not properly maintained.
3. Inside rooms, there were no towel, provided by service staff and no proper cleanings of room.
4. Staff is not as helpful as compare to private hotel staff.
5. Only self service available in Restaurant. Room delivery also not available. Unprofessional behaviour of restaurant staff towards its customer. Not recommended.
6. Beware of monkeys as there are several incidents happens due to monkeys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Classic, British era style retro guest house, Restaurant within the guest house building, Amazing food, Great Himalaya's view from balcony. Nearest to mall road. Own vehicles don't go there, you have to park at a lower stop. you have to walk a bit that too an ascent. Neat and clean. Beware of monkeys. Don't even show them eatables.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is located near to mall road but there is no cab available to go here from railway station. Due to hilly areas, you will feel choked on the way to hotel with bag but distance is not far from railway station. Hotel is very good in this price range. Rooms have ample of space. Restaurant also available on ground floor. Scene from balcony is awesome.
Overall good experience in grand hotel ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taxis doesn't go to this place. It's a sealed road and you have to climb 1km (it's a slope) all the way yourself.
No proper response from the reception.
No kettle, no water, no tissues. Room heater works good in some rooms and some isn't efficient.
Food is good at reasonable price in it's restaurant which is inside the campus.
Rooms are old fashioned but neat and good.
Blankets and pillows are good enough.
