Kalibari Temple of Shimla
The famous Kalibari Temple of Shimla is a popular tourist attraction and is situated at a very strategic location. The temple was built in the year 1845 and is dedicated to Goddess Kali who is also known as Shyamala. It is from the name of Goddess Shyamala that Shimla derives its name. The Kali Bari temple of Simla is a very well known religious place of India and people who come to Shimla never miss out on visiting this temple. The Kalibari temple was primarily located in Jakhu hill. The British brought it to its new site.
Kali Bari Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Shyamala, from which the hill station-and capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla derives its name.Kali Bari Temple houses a shrine of the Hindu goddess Shyamala. Shyamala has multiple aliases, including Kali and Durga.

One of the Historical Temple in Shimla. Must Visit place, Tourists can enjoy the positive vibes as well as view from Kali Bari Temple. Location just next to Mall Road, walking distance from Shimla Ridge as well as The Mall Road. Please be aware from Monkeys, don't feed them as well as don't carry any edible thing in open bag. Please don't scared from Monkeys. I visited Morning time, personally I love the Vibe in the temple. Their is Shiva Temple Inside the Kali Bari Temple. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the Tourist to add in their Bucket list when plan your shimla trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was very nice experience about Kali Bari temple. Here you can see Bangoli style Temple and also inside the temple the idol of Goddess is also in Bengali style, the are just magnificent! If you are at Shimla, and fond of these historical places, then must visit here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had an absolutely mesmerizing experience visiting this place in Jan'2022. It had snowed heavily and the whole route was snowed completely. Just towards the end their is a downward slope and walking on that with snow around was quite challenging but a great experience to have.
We had a toddler along for whom we had taken a Pram, taking it through snow was challenging. The Temple is quite small. The Pandit Ji did Pooja for two of our kids and blessed us with Kali Mata's love.
Would love to visit this place again on my next visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Five star because i liked the calmness here. Beautiful scenic view from the temple.
We were able to offer our prayers and sit ? inside the premises for as long as we wanted. May be because we visited in October and that might not be a heavy traffic time of the year for Hill Queen City. But for us it was pleasant visit.
Moreover due to the close vicinity of the temple from our stay, we were able to visit it twice.
