★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gurudwara Shri Amb sahib Patshahi Satvi Shri Guru Har Rai Sahb, its a Historical place known as a Amb Sahb Gurudwara. Sikhism's Seventh Guru Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib visited this place in 17th century, there was a Bhagat Name Bhai Kooram Singh Ji has great faith in Seventh Guru he visited Amritsar city to see Seventh Guru and brought a big box of Mangoes to offer Guru but Seventh Guru said you take this back and we will visit your farm of Mangoes than we will taste, Bhai Kooram Singh Ji waited for long period of time but guru didn't return, at one time guru visited bhai Kooram Singh Ji's farm and said let's taste mango than bhai Kooram Singh said season for mangoes has gone sorry guru ji no mangoes in this season than Guru said just look at tree, when bhai Kooram Singh Ji looked up he was shocked to see trees full of Mangoes in off season. than everyone in sangat tasted the mangoes and blessed bhai Kooram Singh Ji..its a sikh temple where all community people are welcomed for stay and food for free of cost..

It is situated in the heart of Mohali and having 5 * hospital, bus stand, stadium, etc near to it. Even if number of people are above 1 lac then also there is ample space to walk easily here.

Seventh GURU, SHRI GURU HAR RAI SAHIB JI visited this place to fulfill the wish of his devotee. Bhai Kuram ji of village lambia, visited Amritsar Sahib to pay homage to SHRI GURU ARJAN DEV JI. Darbar was going on, everyone was paying gifts according to their status and capabilities. Sangat from kabul Gifted amb(Mango) to Guru Sahib, Bhai Kuram Ji felt bad on his part that he being from the land of amb, could have also served Guru Sahib with amb, In the evening the darbar was closed and every body was given prasaad of amb, Bhai Sahib didn’t eat amb. In the morning Bhai Sahib Presented the same amb toGURU ARJAN DEV JI.
GURU SAHIB called upon Bhai Sahib and asked that this amb was given to him in prasaad, then why did he had given back to him. Bhai Sahib politely said its true that i got this amb(Mango) as prasaad but i being from the land of mangos felt right to present it to you. Then GURU SAHIB said that you can have this as prasaad, we have felt your feelings and we will have amb in our seventh life span. Seventh GURU SHRI HARRAI SAHIB JI came to this place from kurukshetra in mid of December and asked Bhai Kuram ji for amb, Bhai Sahib politely said to GURU SAHIB that in this season there are no amb, so i am unable to present the amb, but you are almighty you can do and get done what ever you want. GURU SAHIB asked Bhai Sahib that trees are loaded with ambs. Bhai Sahib when looked up that the tree GURU SAHIB was standing under was full of ambs, Bhai sahib layed down on the feets of GURU HARRAI SAHIB JI and served everyone with amb in Dec month

This gurdwara has nice building where guru granth sahib jee is placed and also situated at a lush green area at the outskirt of city. However the accommodation provided to pilgrims is pathetic both room and bedding was filthy. Try to avoid stay in this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gurdwara Amb Sahib is one of the main religious and historical sites for the Sikhs and followers of Sikhism, and is patronised by Punjabis of all religions. The history behind this Gurudwara is that a Sikh follower by the name of Bhai Kuram was blessed by Guru Har Rai (the seventh Sikh Guru) sitting under a mango tree that unseasonally bore mango fruit when the Guru blessed the site and the devotee. Hence the name Amb (Punjabi for mango) Sahib. The mango tree is still in existence and bears the mango fruit all year round. This Gurudwara is hence a very important and significant one for Sikhs, and draws large crowds on Gurupurab (Holy Days). You will also find a large following of non-Sikh Punjabis and tourists on a regular basis. As is practised by most religious places in Sikhism, the Gurudwara has a daily langar (free kitchen), a Sarai (an Inn) that charges a nominal amount (Rs. 100 per night) for travellers/devotees in need of shelter. Pls note that while you are not required to be a Sikh to stay in the Gurudwara, you need to have an ID card, and are normally given a room (on a sharing basis) only if you are genuinely needy. If you are on holiday, or if you are tourists, you might not get a room. As per the religious custom, all visitors are required to cover their heads (scarf or a handkerchief, caps not allowed), and dress appropriately (avoid shorts). The Gurudwara is located in Phase 8, opposite to the Bus Stand, and is very close to the famous PCA Cricket Stadium in Mohali.
