★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Himalayan Aviary or the Himalayan Bird Park is located opposite the Viceregal Lodge, at a height of over 2000 meters.Sight the rarest of the avian species in the picturesque environs of Shimla at Himalayan Bird Park.Opposite the Viceregal Lodge's gate, the Himalayan Bird Park is a little aviary that's home to a small collection of exotic birdlife.
This is a small aviary, basically a relatively small enclosure for birds and also with limited number or type of birds.
A good initiative, pretty inexpensive; however takes just 3 to 4 minutes to cover the whole area.
They should improve the same so as to attract visitors. Increase price but make it a better place. Shifting to a new location could be another option as no real expansion is possible at present venue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the fantastic tourist destinations of Shimla. Somehow not as popular. serene and quiet, except chirruping of the birds!
Kid and elderly friendly. Minimal walking required. Decent parking space. Approach roads are good. It is located near to the Viceregal Lodge.
It is a small enclosure with birds kept inside the net. Tickets are very cheap. Spare 10-30 minutes for this attraction. Not as many birds. They should expand it. Well maintained but the govt can do better to expand it and host more birds and some more education about the rich diversity of the Himalayas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice and well maintained Bird Park located next to the Viceregal Lodge (walkable distance). The birds roam around freely. You can see a large variety of wild Himalayan birds like Silver pheasant, grey pheasant and peacocks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located right in front of Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. A great place to visit and see local birds. Ticket is only Rs.20. It is a single large enclosure that you can enter and see the birds without and cages.
