Environment of this school is very good and the students have much indipendence to enjoy their childhood and school life....in every classroom, there is locker facility to keep their books and etc etc personal things....teacers are very good and the study quality is very good here... Environment is very peaceful and wind of ganga covers this school.... Many classroomd are available.... There is 2 available stream .. science and arts .... Physics, chemistry, statistics, geography, computer practical rooms are available.... Practical materials are very good and recently full school is renovated...by lottery , admission are happened at class 1 every year in December month....

It is known from the quotation of Fisher’s memories “In 1817 the existence of a small school attached to the Imambarah was reported.” So it can be stated that this school was there during the year 1812 & it was further confirmed by the educational report of Sharp Saheb and form the source ‘History of Hooghly’ by Sudhir Kumar Mitra. Part -1.During its long journey Hooghly collegiate school had generated a great number of promising students & great personalities like Sahitya Samrat Bankim Chandra Chattopadhay, litterateur and educationalist Akshay Chandra Sarkar, Justice Saiyed Amir Ali, Historian Ramesh Chandra Majumdar, famous litterateur Bibhuti Bhusan Bandopadhyay & Ashutosh Mukhopadhayay, the ex-education secretary of the govt. of West Bengal Sri Dilip Kumar Guha, Additional District Magistrate of Hooghly(1998) Sri Durgapada Sarkar, the Padmashree awardee and Additional chief engineer (1988) of the Union Govt. of India Sri Subhas Chandra Bose Ray, Dr. Manas Chattopadhay who was the Vice-Chancellor of the Vidyasagar University etc.
