Hotel Dev Vilas, Ranthambore - Sawai Madhopur

Probably the best hotel staff and owner I have ever met. The hotel facilities and rooms are extremely well kept and very spacious. The ambience is perfectly suited to the environment around it! The food is amazing as well.

I went on my first safari in India, and I had the good fortune to stay at Dev Vilas run by the very Nobel Gentleman Mr Balendu Singh. I didn’t realise how lucky I was since Balaendu also a very experienced Safari guide took us on our first safari too, his knowledge and passion for the wildlife and park is remarkable. We sighted tigers on both days having absolute wonderful sightings especially on the second day. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff will go out of their way to meet your needs, they even went out to buy me some items I had forgotten form the local shops. After the natural wonders of the safari, at 7pm onwards Mr Balendu Singh hosts drinks around a fire under the evening stars, the other guests and it’s a great opportunity to meet the other guests and swap stories of our days safari's and Balendu chats and really is a wealth of knowledge on Rantanbore and tourism in India in general. Dinner is ready at any time one likes, it’s a nice fresh buffet with a good mix of both Rajasthani and western dishes, again you can chose to dine inside on your own tables or bring the food outside. The rooms are very comfortable quiet and warm, I particularly liked the hot water bottle placed in my bed whilst I was at dinner. My room had one large bathroom and toilet and a smaller WC room too, so good for a couple with a child, the shower was amazing with really good water pressure and soft water. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant bar area, however if you are late down as I was, the staff do make a nice cappuccino and ensure you can have something. I really can’t put into words how friendly the staff and owner and his wife were, they seemed like one family ready to welcome you into it as one of their own. This place is a real rarity nowadays so I would highly recommend it and hope ill take friends back one day soon.

The property of the resort was amazing , the staff was very kind and helpful . The rooms were beautiful and clean. Overall experience was great at the property , will visir again

Modern spacious rooms, lovely property and great service by all staff. We had a relaxing and peaceful stay here. Highly recommended

Overall a nice and clean place. Rooms are big but expensive for the price. Everything seems to be 15year old but are well maintained. They dont pick calls at reception and had to personally visit them for any request. Kitchen staff need a bit of training. They bring you tea but fogets to bring cup and sugar. Food menu is a huge disappointment here. They have no A la-carte menu and food is quite super expensive. They will let you know what they can cook for you with all the pantry they have. Bathrobe they provided were used and had hairs all over. Dont book sarari from here we did at almost half the price they offered.

Hotel Dev Villas is the epitome of 'Atithi Devo Bhava. I felt welcomed the moment we entered the gates of this property. Though the property is not maintained by some big-name Hotel chain, the service and personal attention provided is nonetheless. The rooms are big and airy and have all the required amenities. The food in the restaurant is homely and tastes good. (They didn't have a particular à la carte menu, but they did make whatever we asked from them). We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and they also got us a cake free of charge and celebrated the same with us. The staff entire staff was very friendly and was always making sure that we were having a good experience. We had also booked a safari with them, ( Certainly overpriced), but then we got a sighting of a lifetime, so absolutely no complaints about the same either XD All in all would certainly recommend Hotel Dev Villas to others and would definitely visit them again whenever I visit Ranthambore next.

Very comfortable stay with spacious rooms and 2 washrooms in each room. Really helpful while getting ready for early morning safari. Sprawling open spaces add to the mental peace. The food is excellent. Overall great stay

I have mixed feelings of this location. The hotel and the room was lovely. The cleanest and most pleasant hotel room we had our whole trip. They had buffet style meals and special times for tea and biscuits. Those who assisted with meal time and the chef, were lovely abs accommodating. They made exactly what we wanted. However, the rest of the hotel staff were very disappointing. We came to stay here for the tiger safari. Everyone there was unhelpful and not flexible, provided mixed/false information, and charged us money for things that were absolutely unnecessary. Honestly I felt completely manipulated and violated by the money we were charged for things outside of our room and meals. They took advantage of the fact that we were tourists. We were able to do the things we wanted but only because we arranged for them outside of the hotel, though the hotel had the ability to help us. They chose not to and still charged us unnecessary money. With that being said, we got to meet a nature videographer, our room was very pleasant, the meal time was pleasant, and the hotel itself and location was beautiful. Now that we know how things work, we may give this hotel another chance but we would have to find a reason to go other than the tiger safari.
