We are connected with Jadavpur Coffee House since our college days, so you can visualize our attachment now we are pretty senior (more than 70 odd years)still crave to feel our nostalgic moments with a cup of coffee with this very old coffee house...

If you are new in kolkata i would like to tell you that there is a branch of coffee house in jadavpur.. I was also surprised hearing this so i went there and had a great time. The environment and the ambience of this place is similar to that of the main cafe. Just that its a mini version of it. The food is quiet good i would recommend you all to eat mughlai over there. Till now i found it the best.

If you want to feel the nostalgia of Kolkata, then must visit the place once. But food quality and quantity is not so good. The place is basically for 'ADDA' with friends and family...all ages person come here and gossip with a cup of coffee and tea.

The history of the Coffee House at College Street can be traced to Albert Hall, which was founded in April 1876. Later, the Coffee Board decided to start a coffee joint from the Albert Hall in 1942. Notable citizens were frequent visitors to the place. In 1947, the Central Government changed the name of the place to "Coffee House".The place became a meeting place for the poets, artistes, literati and people from the world of art and culture. In 1958, the management decided to shut down the Coffee House, but it was re-opened the same year, after professors of Presidency College and Calcutta University rushed off a special petition to the government, to save the heritage place. In 2006, a huge financial crunch kept the co-operative society from undertaking renovation of the coffee house. Though a few companies such as Asian Paints approached the society with offers to renovate the restaurant, the offers were refused due to clash of norms and conditions.

Indian Coffee House is one of my favourite place dor hangout, but that is in College Street the famous one and the big one. This I dian Coffee House is the small franchise of them. The place is little bit cozy, small and situated in one floor. You can go there with friends and enjoy. That's a very happening place. But as always too much crowd. But love that place so much.

Good, standardly priced, hygienic place. For the people who are not looking for flashlights can have coffee with other breakfast and snacks items. Food quality has improved over the years. Mostly snacks or brunch. Not for extensive main course meal.

Bengali's nostalgia. One of the favorite place of most of the Bengali's. Best place for time pass with your friends family and loved ones. But food quality is not so good but yes if you want to hangout and want some 'chay adda' place then this is the best place ever.
