ndian Institute of Technology BHU is one of the premier and oldest engineering institution of India. IIT BHU was founded by Madan Mohan Malviya in 1919 as Banaras Engineering College. Now it's a public aided institution. Hostels are better than most IIT s . All of them have been renovated and there is a huge lawn inside each hostel with badminton courts etc. Internet facilities are good, now they are going to be even better with all filters removed and no limit for usage of internet. I have got up to 10.5mbps download speed from my room.(The current limit is 4GB/day). Campus is very beautiful with lots of greenery. Second largest campus in India 1400 acres. Plus you would live in a city , so malls and cinema halls are there. The rules are not very strict so you go out at the middle of the night and roam around inside or outside the campus. The Ghats are a great place to visit. Fee structure :The fees for UG courses are approximately Rs.80,000 per annum and that of PG courses and doctorate courses range from Rs 36,000- Rs 37,000 per annum.
