Primarily hosts IES Mechanical probationers and SCRAs.
The Institute has well established Carriage and wagon lab, Diesel lab, Mechatronics lab and Library.
Classrooms are air conditioned, equipped with modern facilities, wifi.
It also has a cashless reservation counter.

It produced the first one, CA 764 "Lady Curzon", in 1899. In 1893, it became the site of the first railway foundry in India.

The only problem I faced is that there is no stall nearby.
It's a pride of Indian Railways.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A Railway training establishment with good infrastructure . As usual, no smoking policy is either not put in place or not enforced. This is the biggest central government organization in about 100 km radius. Staff who come for training at IRIMEE stay at the nearby queens road hostel. Almost negligible presence of the canteen for food.
