I opened an Account at this Bank today.
Its a quaint and cosy place with all the major requirements. True, Service is still not automated and account opening takes one entire day.
Still I won't complain, its one of Kolkata's rarest Banks and having an account in this one impresses many of my kind.
Staff behaviour is very good. Exceedingly helpful and satisfactory.
While relatively obscure in West Bengal. This bank has a rich history of operations in Jammu & Kashmir. It is RBI's chief agent of currency supply and distribution in that restive state.
While holding an absolute monopoly in Kashmir, it openly competes alongside other banks in cities across India.
Most customers here are locals, this bank is unknown beyond a few hundred metres on either side
I guess I am one of the very few who actually came from afar to just open an account here.
