★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rating this municipal market place four stars because it most efficiently meets the needs and aspirations of we the middle class of East Kolkata Township - from crockery to clothings to bags and footwear to stationery. Actually it is much better substitute of Gariahat in terms of varieties and quality range of merchandise.
The place is uncluttered despite overflowing with goods, clean, covered and comfortable even in the current hot weather. And yes, some bargaining is customary here, even encouraged.
Big plus is - no food joints inside this three storied ordinary 'shopping mall'.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is just like a local market. Only difference is its inside a building. The quality of products are usually good, and cheap as well. Stairwells are always dirty tho, but the main shopping area is clean and tidy. A bit congested but its okay.

You can buy clothes and other items in a reasonable price here. A Kali temple is also present in this market premises. This market has ample space for car parking. This place is well connected with different parts of Kolkata by different bus routes
