Best place to try authentic Konkani Seafood nearby Pimple Saudagar and Wakad area. Little bit costlier but it's worth to pay. Must try Thali with Pomfret or Surmai in which you will get Prawns curry which i loved a lot.

Everything was tastey....We ordered chicken pomfret and Bombay fish....It was completely homemade! Nothing was deep fried and masala's are upto the required level! Solkadhi and Ukadicha Modak made us reach upto that level where we wished Anna data sukhi bhav ☺️ All the best to Atul and his family! ??

Every great dream begins with a dreamer.. even if the odds are against you..but you believe in your dreams.. . you strive for it.. Pallavi Sonawane and Atul Sonavane..are one such enterprising couple who wanted to do something different.. Very passionate about food.. Konkani food in particular.. Pallavi left her job in the corporate world as a graphic designer and started the venture CT Point.. Konkan Café.. She runs her restaurant and dons the apron and the ladle effortlessly..and cooks the amazing food that they serve here.. So, you are certain that what is on your plate is homecooked and pure. Atul Sonavane, an interior designer by profession is the perfect best half.. who has supported his wife wholeheartedly and helped her carry her passion forward.. and live her dreams.. CT Point specialises in home cooked Konkani food.. Seafood being their speciality but on prior intimation they serve chicken too.. They have a vast menu of seafood starting from Bangda, mandeli, surmai, prawns, pomfret, bombil etc.. And you can also choose from chicken and eggs.. Anything from a fry to a tadka to a curry.. it's all here.. Thank you so much Pallavi and Atul for having us over and for being such fabulous and generous hosts.. We wish you all the luck for the success of CT point, Konkan Cafe and looking forward to seeing many more outlets in Pune. What I tasted.. What was in my glass!! Solkadi.. The first sip of solkadi from the tall glass won me over.. I love it best when served at room temperature. And it was just that.. Not chilled which so many others do.. With the right balance of coconut milk, kokum extract and fresh spices with the coconuty flavour.. This is by far the best solkadi I have tasted.. #MustHave What was on my plate!! Starters.. 1)Egg koliwada - - Let me be honest and say that this was the first time I had tasted eggs koliwada.. I was actually amazed that the egg could hold the coating.. Mild use of masala with a thin coat.. They are actually #goodnibbles while you wait for the food to be served.. Served with a nice coconut chutney it is definitely an excellent starter option. 2)Mandeli rawa fry.. First glance at the platter and you will think #FreshGoldenAnchovies.. Delicious to eat. Deep fried to crispy, crunchy golden with a light coating of rawa/semolina.. It's #ThePerfectKurkureMandeli makes an awesome appetiser, a great side or can be relished as a part of the meal too.. 3) Bombay duck deep fried - - Fried crisply with a thin layer of coating and right balance of spices... Crisp on the outside and soft inside.. Fleshy with a good bite.. I loved it.. #GoodStarteroption.. I wouldn't mind having it along with rice and dal too.. 4) Prawns kharda.. Tender and succulent prawns sautéed in pounded green chillies and peanuts gives it that fiery and zesty "Kharda" feel.. This was just #SoGood.. Burst of flavours inside your mouth.. #Spoton #Donotmissit 5)Pomfret tawa tadka - - - The pomfret was fresh.. But the spiciness of the masala could have been a bit more.. And should have been fried for a few more minutes to get the perfect taste.. No complaints about the fish.. Fresh and sweet. 6) Dried Bombay duck chutney - - #Mouthwatering bombil chutney.. that will ensure you eat a couple of more spoons of rice.. Spicy, tangy and #Soyumm.. #Perfectsides Main course.. We tried two thalis.. 1) Fish curry rice thali - - priced at 180 Rs. Which consists of rice, fish curry, salad, shengdana chutney and a piece of bangda fry.. I need to mention the bangda fry here.. Fried and then topped with a lovely flavoursome tadka of garlic, curry leaves and fried chillies.. #BlissOnAPlate 2)Special surmai thali - - priced at Rs 490.. That's a huge thali.. It has a piece of surmai rawa fry, surmai curry, papad, Prawns sukkat, rice, chappati, bhakri, salad, shengdana chutney, solkadi and a sweet (modak).. Dessert - - Modak.. The perfect end to a sumptuously delicious lunch.. Stuffed with coconut and jaggery with a generous drizzle of ghee..

CT Point Konkan Cafe #WanderDriveEat Solkadhi (Rs 40)– I was welcomed with their special solkadhi. Always my favourite thirst quencher, their version was super creamy, mild and low in sweetness while having loads of flavour and refreshing. It was quite different to many of the solkadhis I have had, but is a perfect accompaniment to the spicy and flavour laden seafood! Bangda Tawa Fry (Rs 180)– This was just a masterpeice. Super juicy and fresh bangda (mackarel) perfectly stuffed and marinated with a spicy and flavourful masala (freshly ground homemade) and cooked on a tawa to perfection. Slightly crisp skin and soft flesh. All topped with a tadka of garlic, whole green chillies and coriander. This is one of the most tasty tawa fry bangda I’ve ever had. Can be slightly spicy for some, but you can tell them to reduce the spice or even turn it up to 11! But trust me, you want this spicy version, especially with a squeeze of lime. As the masala is fresh and very well made, this causes no acidity or burning. Prawns Tawa Fry (Rs 300) – Heavenly! Similar masala and tadka as above with simply plump and juicy flavourful prawns. Just incomparable to any place. I could have multiple plates of this! Mandeli Fry (Rs 150) – Wow, crisp and juicy little whole rawa fried fish. Perfect replacement for papad, if you ask me! A squeeze of lime and you can munch on these all day. Or even at night as chakna! Surmai Thali (Rs 420) – The classic delicious Surmai Rawa Fry. Much milder than the tawa fry and crispier. Very fresh fish and a pleasure to have. Bright red bangda curry was surprisingly subtle and delicious. Very flavourful from whole spices and coconut, without any excess spiciness. Accompanied with very flavourful sukat (dried prawn chutney). I scooped up the curry with lovely tandalachi (rice) bhakri and unpolished ghee laden Indrayani rice! So good! But the crescendo was the ukadiche modak! Ukadiche Modak (Rs 45) - My god, I was floored! Delicate and absolutely smashing, loads of coconut, jaggery and swimming in pure ghee! Flavour was incomparable, though slightly sweet for me, but I have no problem with that. They offered me more and even though I knew I had no space left in the tummy, I had 2 more. Hot, delicious with hot melting ghee! Who can resist! VERDICT Frankly, I’m just in love with this place. The food is super delicious, the owners are super friendly and welcoming, and the place is small, homely but beautiful, hygienic and comforting. There is nothing negative I can say. The amount of hard work and dedication can be seen from both the cooking and management side. Most importantly, there is absolutely no fishy smell in the restaurant, even though you sit right next to the kitchen, which is testament to the freshness of fish, hygiene and quality. 11/10 place!

After hearing a lot about this place finally decided to give it a visit. Located in Pimple Nilakh this restaurant is run by a couple who seem very passionate about food, so there is no way there would be a compromise in food quality. The place is small and cozy. Subtly textured walls and bright colored interiors are sure to kick in the positive vibes. The quirky and humorous quotes alongside tempting photos of in house dishes give an enticing look to the ambience. And by the way did I mention this is a pure non-veg restaurant? (Sorry Vegans!!). Anyways coming to the menu, they have thalis as well as dishes. I tried: SOLKADHI On a hot summer day after a long drive, what would be better than a chilled solkadhi. A tangy falvour and low sweetness makea it the perfect digestive drink. A dash of coriander on the top gives it a nutty and spicy flavour. PRAWNS RAWA FRY Perfectly marinated prawns coated with semolina (rawa) and deep fried. The prawns seemed very fresh and the spice level was just optimal. Topped with coriander, with a zest of lemon makes this the perfect appetizer. #HighlyRecommended MANDELI CRISPY RAWA FRY This is the first time I tried mandeli fish. This is small fish which is whole coated in rawa and deep fried. The coating on the fish imparted a crispy texture alongwith a moderately spicy flavour. Good item to munch on till the main course arrives. Note: This fish is meant to be eaten whole without removing the bones as they are fairly edible. I didn't know at first, but got to know subsequently. SURMAI THALI The first thing that came to my mind on seeing the thali was how beautifully it was arranged. The bowls arranged in order of their sizes, and the tempting fish fry makes it instagram worthy. Anyways coming to the point, the thali consists of fish fry, fish curry, sukat chutney, chapati, rice, solkadhi and modak. The fish fry was surmai tawa tadka. Very mild flavour which brings out the freshness of the fish. The fish curry was tangy and spicy. Sukat chutney was good. The rice served was basically an unpolished indrayani rice cooked in loads of ghee. When partake with the fish curry this is sure to remind you of home. UKDICHE MODAK One of the best things about the thali was the ukdiche modak. The modak had generous amount of sweet coconut filling and were steamed to perfection. Topped with ghee this was a blissful way to end the meal. Overall a great venture by Mr. and Mrs. Sonawane, who make this place an impeccable spot for seafood lovers. Their polite and kind approach towards the customer shows their love and affection for the restaurant. Definitely worth a visit if you are a hard core non-vegitarian.
