★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must visit, 5 kms walk or car ride inside, come early morning and might get to see a wild cat (leapord), best view of the lake from here. Don't waste time to look for viewpoint. This is the only entry to go around the lake. U see the lake from Gomukh temple as well but this is the complete view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This gate is managed by the Forest Department Akola Division.
There is a gate entry fee of INR 30/- per head for adults. Children are let in for free.
You can walk a short trail over the rim of the crater. Vehicles are not allowed from this point onwards.
One gets a fair view of the crater, expecting that it is not foggy.
Else the morning Sun will ruin your view.
The gate staff is polite and forthcoming. There is a small parking area, for which you need to request the staff. Else parking is to be made on the shoulders of Lonar-Dusarbeed Road.
It would have been better if information plaques were installed at the observation point which unfortunately does not have any railing for protection. This makes it rather dangerous and tricky for you may slip into the crater.
One remote and mobile camera keeps an eye on the events, but other than evidence, it does not provide any protection.
People and small children venture right till the very edge of the crater. The edge is sloping so one has to be extremely careful.
