It smells horrible !!! The weather was amazing also be ready for a march down around 200 steps or more .Make sure you accommodate yourself with proper footwear because after the steps you have a walk of 3-5 Kms through the jungle .But it is totally worth it , there maybe be probable sightings of peacocks and small waterfalls .

Beautiful Place and actually wonder of nature . Lonar Lake, also known as Lonar crater, is a notified National Geo-heritage Monuments saline , soda lake, located at Lonar in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, India. Lonar Lake was created by a meteorite collision impact during the Pleistocene Epoch. It is one of the four known, hyper-velocity, impact craters in basaltic rock anywhere on Earth. The other three basaltic impact structures are in southern Brazil. Lonar Lake has a mean diameter of 1.2 kilometres (3,900 ft) and is about 137 metres (449 ft) below the crater rim. The meteor crater rim is about 1.8 kilometres (5,900 ft) in diameter

A peaceful place. And watching it from Forest reserve side is more mesmerizing. There is 5 km tour of forest walk with your vehicle. Authorities charge you Rs. 30/- per person and Rs. 100/- for vehicle. Must try thing.

A scenic experience. We were lucky to visit just after rains. There is parking available for all sorts of vehicles and it's free. The entrance is guarded by watchmen and there's no entry fee. No washrooms are available inside or outside. We could also spot peacocks and peahen. The experience was relaxing.

A must visit place in India for geography, history and nature lovers. It's a pride that we have such a wonderful place in India. Everything is good about this place like the views, Ramsar site for bird lovers, tens of old temples, peaceful and non-touristy location. However the roads connecting this place still require loads of improvement. Also, the village is very impoverished and backward.

One of best places to visit in Buldana District. Asia's only salt water crater formed due to a meteor strike thousands of years ago. Hope to multiple very ancient temples, waterfalls and color changing lake, this is an interesting place to be at. Just brace for steep climbs as the stairs are at a very steep angle which is very much energy draining. Try to visit in the early morning to make the best of the visit.
