It is work full of energy, all the pictures depicted here, are pre puja scenes...all the artists work day and night to make maa durga's idol, they paint it and decorate it with saree, many jewellary and deliver it to most of durga pandals in kolkata, or you can say this is the great workshop of magic, situated near bagbazar Kashi mitra smasan ghat! Besides you can enjoy ferry service to go there, if you are kolkata lover or tourist, then you have to go there to visit the spectacular place

You'll get to see the Idols in their rawest forms of Straw frame to the finished coloured and worshipful form - All at one place...
The whole locality is flooded with workshops and artists sweating for perfection in their work - be it Getting the mould right, Plastering and sculpting, carving or Painting.
But you must go during morning, cause these workshops get closed soon and neither are there bright lights, which can help in photography.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WELL QUALITY IDOL MAKERS ARE THERE including women and children.
Lake of facilities like eating, bathroom.
Too much disturbing types of photographers go there and disturb the idol makers to take there photos, there do like dada eyi dike dekho, dada ek thako etc etc.
Now you need to buy coupon for photography and videography.

Here, clay idols are manufactured for festivities like Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja, and more. And also for export purpose. This locality is almost 300 years old and generations are involved in this artistic process. Their livelihood is dependent on idol making.

U have to take auto from bidhan nagar station and walking for 3-4 minutes. you'll get a huge collection of idol over there and according to season of festival u'll get the different idols.dont forget to bargain,u can also pre-book or make an order for idol of your choices.
