★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a legendary market which provides a glimpse of the bygone Portuguese era. There are countless number of jewellers to cater to your needs. There are many local people who sell their products within the market. You also get to buy cheap beach wears at the stalls. Vegetables, butchers you name it, you'll find them here. I would say this place is a huge mall representing the past.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big, bustling, typical Indian market. You can shop for jewellery, clothes, vegetables, fish, meat, nuts, liquor and almost anything you can think of.
The place is fairly clean and parking easily available during weekdays. Fish is sold at almost wholesale prices ? . Visitors can go there for your last minute shopping before heading back home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It has everything any Indian soul needs from spices to wives or husbands :) Seriously, conveniently placed bazaar. Parking is an issue. Bargain here. Food available mainly in snack form. Fresh produce and crazy variety. Market security is visible so I guess it is safe here.

Also, most shops now accept cards but usually for a minimum billing of INR 200 to INR 500 but the local street vendors only accept cash. There are ATMs in the vicinity of the market, so you don’t need to worry much. There are buses that run into Mapusa from just about everywhere in Goa, for as cheap as INR 10-20 a ticket. Since the place can get really crowded, we recommend you to wear your mask at all times and carry enough sanitiser.

One can sit with a chilled beer and take a break and just watch the hustle and bustle of the market. The food is pretty good and is totally value for money. Their crispy fried sardines are a house speciality.

Friday market is a weekly market which has been happening for over 50 years and has been cancelled only during the pandemic times ever since. Goods ranging from hardware to garden supplies to hair clips and clothing you can get it all here. During peak times there may not be place to even walk freely. Itsa must visit for a local shopping experience. Goods are usually negotiable but not always. Take care and be safe...
