Part 2 continuing the review… DIY I booked flight from mumbai to calgary via Vancouver. I had flight from Vancouver to calgary on the same day june 19 as i had exemption from hotel quarantine. (I know its easy to reschedule flight if they don’t accept ur exemption (so i told agent that I would manage it from airport if exemption wasn’t accepted that was my mistake but barely would i know that if you book through agent they don’t answer you) I reached Vancouver airport and due to rule change they didn’t accept my quarantine exemption. I had to quarantine in Vancouver for three days. I went to air canada desk to reschedule flight they told me we do offer free reschedule but as u have booked through agency your agency has to do it. I called my agent he responded (positive point of agent he responds most of the time)and canceled my last segment from Vancouver to calgary. I finished two days of quarantine and waited to hear from agent cause my flight was supposed to be rescheduled on 22 June. When i was asking for updates we had heated debate and he mentioned few things that made me write this long comment. 1) you were responsible for rescheduling last flight ( my fault I didn’t know flights won’t respond to end user if you book through agency) 2) once we have booked everything our responsibility is over now its on customer. 3) If flight gives us price then only we can rebook. On 21st i am listening all these reasons. I am not saying he wouldn’t have tried to book it but what i am saying is as end user of this is the case wouldn’t it be better to book ourselves? (There were few more arguments that I didn’t like but anyway) I had to awake at 3:00 Am in morning on 22nd to coordinate with them paid rebooking difference (5500 rs) in addition to 1.7 L paid earlier. And comfirmed my tickets for 22 june 1:30 PM . I was explained a lot of terms like stop over changes and what not which air Canada denied of charging. I couldn’t understand why i had to pay for rescheduling flight booked with air canada and take all this mental stress when air canada was ready to reschedule for free. I called both airlines to know the reason. Air canada made it clear “ we do provide free rescheduling in COVID rule change because its not customer’s fault and we understand that, in my case only restriction was instead of me my agency has to do it” I called Lufthansa for the same “first thing they Are difficult to reach” and one thing they mentioned “ its agency’s decision to rebook or reschedule its not us who decide that. ur flight was canceled first and than were requested to take action on that after departure. So only option was rebook it. Whatever… i told my journey as it is decision is urs. My suggestion , if you are confident enough book it yourself. Rest is on you. Recently travelled to Canada with a couple of friends through them and had a good experience. Everything ran smoothly and had no issues anywhere. They were in constant touch with us to make sure we were alright and to get updates on our situation. We had a layover in Belgrade, which was also very well managed and we did not face any issues on our entire trip.

The service is very transparent. These people had it all covered. My whole journey from India to Canada via Serbia was taken care off and they made sure that I was prepared to face any issues if they arose at all, but it all went smoothly.
